Parker og natur i Sitka

De bedste naturanbefalinger fra lokale

“See eagles, owls, and hawks up close! They have a lovely walk around the outdoor enclosures with views of Indian River. The volunteer guides are very informative and passionate about what they do. The eagle rehab rooms are especially impressive. ”

“Sitka National Historical Park, also known as Totem Park to locals, is a beautiful walk in the woods. I believe they are working on the bridge that crosses over Indian River this summer (2017), but you still can get about a mile and a half walk and 5 totem poles before reaching this bridge.”

“The Raptor Center is a rehabilitation center for birds of prey. Lots of events, and talks. Open daily. Great place to see eagles.”

“This is one of my favorite hikes to do. The beginning is relatively steep, as you climb past a roaring river and waterfall. It circles around a lake with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, then descends upon the same trail you climb on. ***There is not cell phone reception at Herring Cove, so make sure to plan accordingly. ”
