Spa
“A fabulous spa facility at the Terme baths at Viterbo. The remains of Roman baths, the healing waters and mud is still recognised for its healing qualities. In medieval times, the baths were a favourite destination for many Popes, hence the name. Would highly recommend a visit. About 30 min drive from the property You can either visit the baths alone for their healing qualities or alternatively visit the Spa with a wide selection of face and body treatments. Closed on Tuesday ”

“from Camp Joy Village is 10 km - The Dome of Orvieto is one of the most beautiful Italian cathedral, a masterpiece of the gothic architecture of the center of Italy. The magnificent building dominates the bluff up which Orvieto is located thanks to its size. The Dome has been built for three centuries by the work of dozens of experts and artists. In particular, the splendour of its facade is known all over the word, with its towers that reach a height of about 53 meters. Do not to forget the interior of the Dome, with wonderful decorations and frescoes made by some of the most great painters of the past, among which the famous Giudizio Universale of Luca Signorelli. “ The Tower Bridge , 230 m long , symbol of the city : it was the most spectacular part of the aqueduct of Cortaccione of Roman origin . It is considered a Roman - Lombard building according to some , late medieval according to others , unique in its height of 82 m . The monument is covered by a delicate operation monitoring of the stress state of the walls . It is considered an anomaly at the time of its construction : in fact , rarely in the same era were built civil use of such grandeur . The work is celebrated by Goethe in his Italienische Reise . The place has become infamous in time for the occurrence of some incidents of suicide [ 5 ] . Extreme towards Monteluco is the small Mill Fortress , turreted building that for centuries has played a supervisory role on the bridge .”

“from Camp Joy Village is 59 km - he Waterfalls, which are immersed in a natural scenery of incomparable beauty, are an artificial work due to the Romans. In fact, at that time, the Velino river was greatly enlarged and had created a vast zone of stagnant waters, swampy and unhealthy. Aiming to make these waters deflow, the consul Curius Dentatus had a canal dug which directed them in direction of the Marmore cliff. From there, he had them precipitate, in a total fall of 165 meters, into the river-bed of the Nera river which runs along below. In every age, the beauty of the Waterfalls has inspired poets and artists, among these: Virgilius, Cicero, G. Byron, and many others. For about 50 years now the waters of the Waterfall are used to fuel the hydroelectric power plant Galleto.”

To provision with water the Albornoz fortress in case of siege or conflict, this well was built, based on a plan of Antonio da Sangallo il Giovane. The St. Patrick well, completed in 1537, is 62 metres deep and, at the inside, two double-spiralled stairwells were made, planned for easier transportation of water.”

“Orvieto is a small city perched on a rock cliff in Umbria, Italy. Duomo di Orvieto, dating from 1290, has a mosaic facade and houses a marble Pietà sculpture. The Pozzo di San Patrizio is a 16th-century well shaft with a double spiral staircase. An underground cave network attests to the city’s Etruscan roots. Artifacts from this era, like ceramics and bronze items, are on view at the National Archaeological Museum.”
