Conquer the Trail to Hidden Valley
Let's explore South Mountain Preserve and discover Hidden Valley. We'll hike about 2-3 hours, travel a total of 3.8 miles, and gain 1,000 feet of elevation to discover a magical spot in the middle of the mountain. Our adventure begins with a climb but offers amazing views right away. As we continue to gain elevation we’ll see local landmarks like Four Peaks, Camelback Mountain, Piestewa Peak, and Downtown Phoenix. Surrounded by fantastic rock formations as we climb even higher, we’ll stop to learn about the Sonoran Desert’s unique geological history, vegetation, and wildlife. We'll see Saguaros, wild flowers, Barrel and Prickly Pear cacti. We may even spot a family of Quails, a Zebra Tailed Lizard, or Jack Rabbits running across the trail. After we’ve reached our highest elevation we’ll squeeze through Fat Man’s Pass (a narrow pass through a giant boulder created by a powerful wash) and descend into Hidden Valley. Here we will be completely secluded from city views and surrounded by birds, butterflies, and fresh herbal air. We’ll take a moment here to enjoy in the beauty of the desert. We'll stop again to examine ancient petro glyph sites created by the Hohokom, sometime between 350 - 1500 AD. Next, we’ll rock scramble a bit before we hike to a natural rock tunnel. Finally, we’ll enjoy more views of the valley on the way down the mountain. Other things to note Beginner hikers can enjoy this hike, but should participate in some regular physical activity. We will hike 3.8 miles with 1000ft elevation gain in 3 hours. Guests with heart conditions or joint issues should not participate.

Easy hike in the desert
On this experience you’ll enjoy the beauty of the desert on a stress-free trail that winds through a section of Phoenix Mountains Preserve known only to locals. At the time you choose, we'll meet at a lightly traveled trailhead in North Phoenix and take a few minutes to get acquainted. Next, we'll begin our hike on a wide, gently sloped trail with spectacular views of the Phoenix Mountains Preserve. Along the way, I'll teach you some cool stuff about the Phoenix area and the desert landscape. You’re encouraged to take pics and ask questions along the way. After about 30 minutes, we'll begin making our way back to the starting point. If you want a little more challenge, we have additional routes to choose from on our way back to the starting point. You’ll leave energized, with a greater appreciation for Arizona and the Sonoran Desert.

Camelback's Hidden Gems -Hike & Yoga with a View
Challenge yourself in a new way, see the desert from a locals perspective and enjoy a rejuvenating yoga session off the beaten path . We will meet at the trailhead of Echo Canyon and go over safety and goals. We will not be going to the top of the mountain, but instead, about 3/4 mile up and enjoy some special off trail spots for amazing photos and views. We will have a rejuvenating yoga session and time to take it all in before our trek down. With me as your experienced hiking guide, yoga instructor and photography enthusiast you're sure to have an amazing time, learn a lot about the Sonoran desert plants and have memories to last a lifetime! Private tours are available as well!! The best time (in my professional opinion) for this hike, no matter the time of year is closer to sunrise ( starting between 5-7am). It is always worth it to wake up that early to see the sun rise over the mountains, enjoy a much quieter hiking experience, avoid crowds and in the summertime, avoid overheating. The regularly scheduled times will vary during the year depending on our weather. No matter what time of year you're here, this experience will be the most unique and best way to experience Scottsdale's most popular hike, Camelback Mountain.
Arizona Offroad Adventures - Bull Dog Canyon
This is an off-road trip through Bulldog Canyon. The trip starts with meeting at a large residential property a few miles from the off-road entrance. I live in the home and it has a large safe area to park in. We will begin the trip with meeting each other. Then there will be a small safety talk. Once everyone is comfortable and ready our adventure begins. We will start with a short drive on the road to the off-road access point. We will be entering Bulldog Canyon off of Ellsworth onto forest road 3554. This road is mostly sand. This area looks like a track from a bmx video game. We will cross the desert to the base of a mountain. Then we will drive through a large wash parallel to the mountain. There is a small opening that we can drive through. We will then turn onto forest road 10. This road is a mix of sand and small rocks. It is a very beautiful picturesque path. We will end the trip driving to the top of a mountain that over looks the city. After viewing the city there is approximately a 10 minute drive on paved roads back to the starting point and your car. This trip takes 2-3 hours depending on road conditions and passenger preferences. Bulldog Canyon is the area of Tonto National Forest north of Usery mountain and south of the salt river. There is a good chance of seeing desert animals like horses, coyotes, javelina, and snakes. Custom times available on request.

Befriend Rescued Farm Animals & Hug a Cow
If you truly love animals, you’ll be in absolute heaven!! We’re talking dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin kind of heaven! Imagine standing under a mesquite tree with chickens at your feet, goats on spools, ducks splashing around, a mini zebu cow named Twister nudging you for more pets, llamas & an alpaca in close proximity, the subtle oinks of mini pigs, and curious emus invading your personal space. If you’re deemed worthy, Finny aka the “naughty goat”, might come over and say hi. Otherwise, just expect to get the side eye. (If you’ve ever seen the viral video of security cam footage where a bunch of farm animals march into the house while the owner was gone… that was Finny.) You’ll also meet Hen Stefani, the celebrity chicken with over 160,000 followers. Make sure to follow her on insta & tiktok @hen_stefani WARNING: You’ll be visiting a farm animal sanctuary. This is not a petting zoo. Basically, the animals call the shots. This is their home. While a lot of the animals enjoy pets and interaction, some only want to be observed. *My schedule is flexible so feel free to request other dates and times. Thanks so much for supporting Fluffy Top Sanctuary! All money goes towards feed and vet care. Can’t wait to meet you!

Sunset hike in the desert
I've planned this hike to help you experience a spectacular Arizona sunset right in the middle of Phoenix. We'll meet up at a lightly traveled trailhead in North Phoenix and take a few minutes to get acquainted. Next, we'll head out into the desert on a wide, gently sloped trail with spectacular views of the Phoenix Mountains Preserve. Along the way, I'll teach you some cool stuff about the desert landscape and the Phoenix area. We'll make our way up to a higher point to watch a gorgeous Arizona sunset. Before it gets too dark, we'll head back to the starting point, then go our separate ways. Total distance is about 1.5 miles and requires the ability to hike terrain as steep as a treadmill set at the highest angle, with a few breaks built in. You can request specific dates and times if it’s not already offered at a time that’s convenient for you. Thanks for considering me as your guide. I hope to meet you on a future hike.
Exhilarating sunrise hike in the desert
We’ll meet up at a lightly traveled trailhead in a quiet North Phoenix neighborhood. After taking a few minutes to get acquainted, we’ll begin our adventure. The trail starts out easy as the day’s first light awakens the desert. A few minutes later we’ll begin to ascend a trail with challenging slope and spectacular views of the Phoenix Mountains Preserve. Just over half a mile and about 20 minutes later, we’ll find ourselves perched atop a mountain with a breathtaking panorama of the Valley of the Sun. Along the way, I'll teach you some cool stuff about the desert landscape of Arizona. Just as we catch our breath from the exhilarating hike up, the sun will burst over the horizon and leave us gasping in awe. Once the sun is fully up and we’ve taken a few pictures, we'll begin making our way back to the place where we started. Finally, we’ll say our goodbyes and go our separate ways. You’ll start your day invigorated and with a greater appreciation for Arizona and the Sonoran Desert. Total distance is about 1.5 miles and requires the ability to hike terrain as steep as a treadmill set at the highest angle. If that sounds too challenging, you may want to consider booking my easy hike in the desert. You can request specific dates and times if it’s not already offered at a time that’s convenient

Spectacular Sunrise Hike w chef's breakfast picnic
After meeting your guide — cheerful chef Baked Bri or Arizona native & army vet Hector Orozco — fluffy dog optional! — we’ll warm up at the trailhead with some light stretching & introductions before we head off into a pre-dawn South Mountain Preserve, a 2.59 mile loop adjustable in both length and difficulty — some have called it easy, others difficult. Same hike. :) Halfway in, we'll ascend 500 scrambly feet as the sun is starting to rise & at the top be rewarded with a one-of-a-kind picnic & panorama — a spectacular dual-view: One one side, the sun rises above the mountains painting the horizon different colors depending on the day: while opposite is the entire city of Phoenix, best photo ops or meditation spot! Then when everyone feels ready, we'll hike back along the skyline or cut back down into the canyon, views the whole time! As we walk & talk & eat, I often include park history, first peoples’ history in the area, local flora & fauna & the geology on which they lay — even city and general culture info, through my own eyes of course. But that’s a lot of stuff so ask questions to learn what you want! *Food local & seasonal — requests or allergies welcomed! **This hike is not cost-effective with 1 person so please parties of 2 or more. There’s no setting for this so just a kind request. I love, love doing this and wish it were all free. :)

Hike through Hidden Valley - South Mtn
We will meet at the trailhead in south Phoenix and hike up Mormon Trail in South Mountain Park Preserve, one of the largest city parks in the nation. This is a climb, right out of the parking lot, with great views of the Phoenix area. I like doing this hike at sunrise for the great views and lighting, but alternate times are available if you contact me before booking. Once we reach the top of the climb, it's rolling hills and some flat desert hiking until we reach the beginning of Hidden Valley where we'll squeeze through two boulders that make up "Fat Man's Pass" into beautiful and secluded hidden valley. We are likely to see wildlife anywhere on this hike but especially so in Hidden Valley. On this hike I have seen coyotes, rattlesnakes, bunny rabbits, quail, humingbirds, chuckwalla lizards, chipmunks, millipedes and bears. (just kidding, no bears). Many neat features and rock formations in Hidden valley, including a spot where we get on our rear ends and slide about 6 feet down a slick rock. We'll leave Hidden Valley through a natural tunnel, see a couple petroglyphs, and then begin to head back down. I know all the great spots (including some off-trail spots) for talking amazing photos. All told this is about a 4.2 mile hike and slightly under 1000 foot accumulated elevation gain. Other trails are also available. Please contact me for alternate times or hikes.
Sunrise in the Sonoran Desert
Let’s rise early to witness the magic of morning in the Sonoran Desert. Well hike two miles to watch the sun spread its warmth over the valley and take in the sounds of nature coming to life. We'll ditch the digital noise and escape to the natural world to observe, question, and reflect on the interconnections of the uniquely beautiful Sonoran Desert. Along the trail we’ll learn about the vegetation, geology, insects, and animals that surround us. This energizing experience will leave you renewed and ready for a beautiful day.
