This 1 story villa is ideally located in a quiet natural setting, yet within walking distance to shops, restaurants, marinas and historic Canal Street. Bike/drive over the pink quaint North Causeway bridge to the beach less than 2 miles away. Cathedral ceiling, transom windows and an open floor plan give this 1,200+sf home & patio a spacious feel. Enjoy the Indian River by strolling Dolphin Cove’s boardwalk, look for dolphins, manatee and sea turtles, and enjoy gorgeous sunsets over the water.
Our home is a spacious 1 BR/2BA villa with cathedral ceilings, transom windows, and an open floor plan spread over 1,000+sf. There are 3 glass sliders each leading from the Kitchen, DR or BR to a private sunny patio that provides an extra 240sf of living space. Furnishings are vintage ranging from Victorian to mid-century modern pieces. Outside on the patio you can enjoy a teak sectional and pub table. The LR has 3 couches and a flat screen 50” TV with WiFi & Apple TV connection to Netflix, Hulu & HBO. Sorry no cable. The DR has an expandable teak table. The Master Bedroom has a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom, 2 closets, 2 dressers and flat screen TV (not connected to WiFi but feel free to stream from you personal laptop).
We like to cook and provide a fully stocked kitchen including a Kitchen-Aid mixer, toaster oven, Cuisinart, and blender. If you want to grill, you can easily access the patio and full-size charcoal grill from the kitchen.
We provide cards, a few games and 2 bikes. (Please let us know in advance if you would like us to leave the bikes for you, because they take up a lot of space).
Because we are renting out our home for a limited time this year, we are making the master BR available but NOT the guest BR where we will store & lock up our personal items. You will have access to both the en-suite master and guest bathroom as well as the laundry room.
We are located on the North Causeway that connects New Smyrna Beach’s mainland with the beachside barrier island. Out of 2 bridges North Causeway is the smaller one and distinguished by its drawbridge and pink color. Our community enjoys a quiet natural setting, but is walking distance to the action-shops, restaurants, marinas, and historic Canal Street.
Our neighborhood is tucked away in a natural wildlife setting along an elbow of the Indian River that runs between the mainland and beachside. Our community consists of small buildings with 4 one-story units per building and we are located along the Indian river with a boardwalk on two out of four sides. We are graced with palm trees, old southern oak trees, oleander hedges, and hibiscus bushes among other tropical plantings. The noisiest it ever gets here is when the lawn service cuts the grass on Thursday afternoons. The estuary and mangroves viewed from our boardwalk provide a rich environment and feeding ground for wildlife, such as dolphins, manatee, sea turtles, herons, and ibis. Practically next door is the Artist Workshop, where you and take classes and the Marine Discovery Museum, offering eco tours by kayak or open air ferry.
Within walking distance 5min is Merk’s a bar/restaurant and bait shop, popular with locals and visitors alike. They have 2 pool tables and are famous for their “Frankenstein sauce” on chicken wings. They serve food until 2am. Next door to Merk’s is a bowling alley and Gerry’s marina, where you can buy or rent a pontoon boat. Across the Causeway is Outriggers Marina & Restaurant, an upscale and popular spot to sit on the water and enjoy a tropical drink or bite to eat. Outside they have a fire pit and overhead heating that come in handy on the rare night it is chilly or sit inside where you can still enjoy the view from the floor to ceiling windows.
Walking east towards the drawbridge Wake-Up Cafe is located on your right and offers consistently delicious food including a variety of eggs Benedict’s, empanadas, and a Cobb Salad.
Walking west and over the Barry Bridge, is historic Canal St with shops, restaurants, and brewery. Every Saturday has a different theme, including one day where vintage cars lines the street. Every Saturday there’s a Farmer’s Market selling a variety of products including fresh produce, tropical plants, organic eggs and chicken, locally crafted clothing and art. In the first block, are 3 great offerings: Primo Pizza, New Smyrna Beach Brewing Company, and Yellow Dog Eats. There are too many other favorites to list here, so please consult our black binder.
