Waterfall
“If you’re the type of person who likes some ‘bang for your buck’, then Franklin Falls is the hike for you. The two-mile hike (round trip) is perfect for children and families and the falls at the end of the trail is very impressive. When the water levels are lower you can walk to the base of the falls. The cool spray is much welcomed on a sunny summer day! Distance: 2.0 mile Elevation Gain: 400 ft. Season: Summer - Fall”

Trail
“A relatively easy 2 mile RT (and only 400 ft elevation gain) hike will take you to a fun crossing of Denny Creek that, depending on water level, is a great spot to stay and play in the water! You can also continue past this water crossing to a waterfall a little further up. Best in summer and fall. Find more info on WTA.org.”

“A 45-minute drive east of Seattle on I-90 will take you to the interpretive center at the Cedar River Watershed, the source of Seattle's refreshingly clean tap water. Located in the foothills of the Central Cascade Mountains. Open 10 am - 5 pm every day except Monday. You can also take a moderate 3-mile hike up Rattlesnake Ridge to a great view of the Central Cascades.”

“A great family hike for older children, say 9 years or older. Wild flowers and berries on the slopes, and then a fun lake to skip stone at. You will then be able to go home, bragging that you have hiked a section of the Pacific Crest Trail.”

Trail
“One of my personal favorite hikes, it is about an hour drive from the AirBnb. It is a little longer ~7 miles and has some elevation gain but if you are up for it the view at the top is so worth it! For this hike you will need a discover pass which you can pick up for $10 from most grocery stores. ”
