“Love this place. Great for a day out. Feed the birds, watch the birds. It also has an Inside and outside play area.”

“Book a table, check-out Desmond's 'brow and tuck-in to some of the best grub in Norfolk. A good spot to park the car and enjoy a gentle stroll over to Blakeney, and back to Wiveton again.”

“Voted the nation’s favourite family pub, our 18th century village local on the Norfolk coast serves real ales from our microbrewery Brancaster Brewery, home cooked wholesome food, great pub clasics including Jolly Smokehouse specials, local seafood, stone baked pizzas and ice cream from a garden beach hut (and not forgetting the largest selection of rum on the coast!) Families, muddy or sandy boots and muddy paws welcome in our pub which is at the heart of village life in scenic North Norfolk, just across the road from Brancaster Staithe harbour and beach. ”

“Five minutes drive from the cottage is Creake Abbey. It is home to a stunning Café and Food Hall, fantastic shops and studios plus an award winning farmers’ market together with the ruins of an Augustinian abbey founded in 1206. On the 1st Saturday of each month (excluding January) Creake Abbey hosts its award winning market. 50+ stall holders come with fresh local produce including meat, fresh vegetables, fruit and flowers in season, cheeses and much more. The Creake Abbey Café and Food Hall is open 7 days a week from 9am offering breakfast lunch and tea daily. The Food Hall offers bread, milk and cooking staples plush fresh vegetables, wine and beer together with a fantastic deli counter. Butchery is provided by Arthur Howell. Find unusual ingredients, sauces, mixes and foodie gifts too. We like: •The frozen food section. The Indian warm up meals are excellent and good for those days you don’t feel like cooking. •Breakfast outdoors. Soak up the sun and have breakfast outdoors overlooking the field which are good for bird watching. They will even lend you a pair of binoculars. •The deli and butcher. Large wholesome sausage rolls a personal recommendation. ”

“This is master chef Galton Blackiston's foray into 'street food' and boy is it good. There's a fish restaurant on the ground floor and a bistro upstairs - both top-notch.”

“Genuinely fresh and local seafood. Try the Cromer crab salad with a glass of chilled Norfolk wine. Here you will find the best chips - both skinny and chunky - for miles around. Children will love the fishcakes and the sparkly elderflower juice; and are free to run wild on the green.”

“We say “we are more than a Deli”, and one visit to Thornham Deli explains what we mean. We began life serving fabulous food and drink, and this remains at the heart of all we do, but we are also so much more. Within the Deli itself, the first thing you will see is our fantastic deli counter, packed full of tasty treats. Savoury snacks, sweet pastries, tempting cakes, antipasto and a range of Norfolk cheeses and charcuterie – it really is a feast for the eyes. We also pride ourselves on serving the best coffee on the coast and our trained baristas ensure you get a perfect cup of Joe every time. The ideal partner to a piece of home-made cake.”

“Cookies is a little cafe and fish shop on the coast road in Salthouse. It's a bit of a local secret. I always make a beeline for it whenever I'm up in Norfolk. It has amazing seafood platters. There is space to sit outside in the summer and a little cafe for inclement weather. They don't have a license but are happy for you to bring a bottle of something chilled. Warning - it's very little and local so they may not have crab or lobster if the weather is too rough for the boats to go out, and they may close if they have nothing to sell - especially on Mondays. But if you're in luck, you're in for a treat!”

“Nice spot by the river, but can be touristy in the summer. Excellent sandwiches but on the pricey side.”
