“What can be said of a Kewpee Burger. They are smashed fresh to order, as they have been for nearly 80 years. This is one of the first chains in the nation, and although large buildings, Parking ramps, and commerce have straddled this tiny joint over the decades, this staunch ally of the Burger World has outlasted every neighbor. Order a Kewpee Burger, and note that it is wrapped in paper even if you enjoy it at the counter. Try the home-made root-beer, Add hand-scooped ice-cream for a "Root-beer Float" known in these parts as a "Black-Cow". The fries are plentiful, thin and crispy. The Burgers are neat tidy, Juicy, and fresh. Adorning the walls are memorabilia form eras of Kewpee's evolution. No Omnivore should miss this one. It is a national icon, and a great place for a midday snack. Cash Only, Closed Sunday. ”

“It is delicious and a long-time staple in Racine for pizza and calzones. You may want to get a reservation because it is so popular, the waits can be rather long. It also has one of the best servers in the area, her name is Amanda Ellen. Tell her the Knepper AirBnB sent you.”

“A Racine favorite! Can be loud, but fun. Spanish tapas style food. But the large dishes (seafood gumbo and beef stew) are quite good. ”

“Dating back to 1891 this very vintage pub, eatery, and flophouse, has a deep history. Originally serving Bohemian Beer from Chicago, the Pub was purchased by The Pabst family and Bear dynasty, who opened several branded Beer Halls across the midwest. Notable about the Ivanhoe is its vintage feel, kind people, decent bar fare, dartboards, pool, pinball, and Lamps dating to the early 1800's. This place is a special time capsule once owned by a retired Prize-fighter, and later undergoing a few changes, while never losing it's soul. Live music is found here, and locals chat it up loudly over decent drinks, and local beer. The Ivanhoe is a great apostrophe at the north boundary of the Main Street shopping strip. If you need another place, head a block south to the Racine Brewing Company for a reliable fresh craft beer, and a friendly staff.”

“Best burgers in town! Try the 99 Poblanos or the Trojan Horse. Uniquely crafted burger recipes that don't disappoint. Atmosphere is pub-style. Great place for a beer. We love to order to-go and grab a pint while we wait.”

“Local Thai favorite. Known for their Red Curry and Volcano Chicken. Careful, their heat scale is basically all meant to be painful. 1 out of 5 heat stars is sufficient for spicy food lovers, everyone else don't go higher than half a star.”
