Museum
“The International Tennis Hall of Fame is set in The Newport Casino, a National Historic Landmark that first opened in 1880 as a social club for Newport’s summer elite. Designed by McKim, Mead & White, a premier architectural firm of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, this was one of the firm’s earliest projects. In 1881, the first U.S. National Men’s Singles Championship was contested at the Casino, and Dick Sears garnered the first of seven consecutive titles before retiring undefeated in 1887. The International Tennis Hall of Fame shares the narrative of tennis history from its origins through present day.”

Dedicated in 1763, it still serves an active congregation and each year greets over 30,000 visitors who come to see the magnificent interior and hear its remarkable story. This remarkable building is located just across the street from our Historic Newport location.”
