History Museum
“A block south of Plaza de la Cibeles, this museum will appeal to those who always wondered what the Spanish Armada really looked like. On display are quite extraordinary models of ships from the earliest days of Spain’s maritime history to the 20th century. Lovers of antique maps will also find plenty of interest, especially Juan de la Cosa’s parchment map of the known world, put together in 1500. The accuracy of Europe and Africa is astounding, and it’s supposedly the first map to show the Americas. Also of interest is the wall-sized map showing Spanish maritime journeys of discovery from the 15th to 18th centuries. Statue of Don Blas de Lezo (3 February 1689 – 7 September 1741) one the Greatest Admirals of all time and unfortunately one of the most unknown Spanish heroes well deserves a visit - it is located at Plaza de Colon. ”

“This is one of the green spaces that make up the natural artistic heritage of Madrid. It is one of the most beautiful and, paradoxically, one of the least known. The Duke and Duchess of Osuna--especially by the Duchess, María Josefa de la Soledad Alonso Pimentel, created it in 1784. As a protector of artists, bullfighters, and intellectuals, the Duchess created an authentic natural paradise frequently visited by the most distinguished personalities of the period, and where the most prestigious artists, gardeners, and set designers worked.”

“Jardín de 1,74 hectáreas que es usado por los madrileños para sentarse en verano en cualquiera de sus terrazas. Fue diseñado en los años 30 y 40 por los arquitectos Fernando García Mercadal (1932) y Manuel Herrero Palacios (1945) que configuraron un primer cuerpo rodeado por un murete, al que se accede por unas escaleras, una zona estancial con árboles, fuente central y señalados macizos con césped, pasos de granito y farolas y un busto de Zuloaga.
