Beach
“One of the best beaches in central Crete are the breathtaking Melissa Cape Sandhills near Agios Pavlos, at the south end of the vast seafront of Akoumiani Gialia. The Sandhills are located around 55km south of Rethymnon city and are bounded to the south by the Cape Melissa and to the north by river Akoumianos and Triopetra beach. The deep sea is very inviting for a swim and it is quite common to see people in various states of beachwear or lack thereof owing to the area's relative seclusion and privacy offered by the coves around the beaches. The locals also call it Alatsogremi (salt cliffs). ”

“This is another new beach bar/restaurant, very elegant with beautiful facilities, fancy sun-beds (free if you buy something), pools and a beautiful restaurant and bar. The beach here is not very wide so they have put sun-beds in many levels of the area which is interesting but you might need your slippers to get to the beach.”

“Η διαδρομή είναι μέσα στην φύση, με θέα προς την πόλη και συναντάς καταπληκτικά πέτρινα γιοφύρια. Η επίσκεψη είναι δόκιμο να γίνεται τις πρώτες πρωϊνές ή απογευματινές ώρες”

Beach
“Blue Beach Bar, Ammolofoi Beach on the other side of Nea Paramos. Drive all the way through Nea Peramos and come out the other side into an area of vineyards. (Take a cooler and fill it with the amazing fruit for sale). You will pass a ruined castle and the road will go to your right. Blue Beach Bar has good sign posts and it comes off to your left. The views are stunning. The sea is very shallow. The sand is great for building sandcastles. Parking and sun lounges are free - they just ask that you buy a drink. They also do snacks and alcohol. The sunsets are amazing.”

“In the Square named for Mohammed Ali (1769-1849), which is located in the Panagia peninsula, in the Old Town of Kavala, his residence and statue can be found. The statue is by the famous sculptor Konstantinos Dimitriadis. It was created in Paris and depicts Mohammed Ali, the general and founder of the Egyptian dynasty, with his sword in its sheath since, according to tradition, he was returning home to rest. There is a similar sculpture in Egypt, which shows him on horseback but holding his sword up high, in an expression of glory. Mohammed Ali’s Residence is considered one of the most characteristic surviving examples of 18th-century Ottoman architecture in Greece. ”
