“Jaipur’s most-distinctive landmark, the Hawa Mahal is an extraordinary pink-painted, delicately honeycombed hive that rises a dizzying five storeys. It was constructed in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh to enable ladies of the royal household to watch the life and processions of the city. The top offers stunning views over Jantar Mantar and the City Palace in one direction and over Sireh Deori Bazaar in the other. Our bnb in Jaipur is located within 7 minutes’ drive by tuk-tuk / taxi to Hawa Mahal. ”

“This museum is housed in the spectacularly florid Albert Hall, south of the Old City. The building was designed by Sir Swinton Jacob, and combines elements of English and North Indian architecture, as well as huge friezes celebrating the world’s great cultures. It was known as the pride of the new Jaipur when it opened in 1887. The grand old building hosts an eclectic array of tribal dress, dioramas, sculptures, miniature paintings, carpets, musical instruments and even an Egyptian mummy. Our heritage home in Jaipur is located within 15 minutes’ walk to Albert Hall. ”

“This magnificent building was built in 1888 as the residence of the British Viceroy Lord Dufferin. It is located at the observatory Hills and is surrounded by well-maintained gardens and lawns, ringed by beautiful pine trees & rose plants. The Viceregal Lodge, also known as "Rashtrapati Niwas" is now converted into Indian Institute of Advanced Study and students come here for higher studies. The building has an English Renaissance style of architecture, where the color of limestone is grey. Since it is located at a good height, the views from this place are enthralling and cannot be described in words. ”

“The Bara Imambara of Lucknow is one of the most famous monuments of the city. Also known as Asfi Imambara, after the name of the Nawab of Lucknow who got it constructed. It is an important place of worship for the Muslims who come here every year to celebrate the religious festival of Muharram. The Imambara is primarily known for its incredible maze, known as Bhul Bhulaiya locally, which is located on the upper floor of the monument. It is said that there are 1024 ways to get inside the maze but only 2 to come out. World over, Bara Imambara is as much revered for its religious importance as for its architectural prowess. Said to be the world's largest structure that is unsupported by beams, Bara Imambara is considered a marvel of engineering and a fine specimen of Mughal architecture. In the vicinity, religious centres like the Asifi Mosque, Shahi Bawali, Rumi Darwaja, etc., are also present for one to explore. The Bara Imambara has a unique style of construction. Moreover, No wood or metal has been used in the construction of this mosque. One can also have a view of the grave of Nawab Asaf-Ud-Dowlah and his crown, which is kept in the central hall. The Bara Imambara is worth seeing in its own right, but the unusual labyrinth of corridors on its upper floor (Bhul Bhulaiya) is what steals the show!”

“This place showcases a lot of great art and artifacts! It’s not the most beautiful of buildings but worth a look around. A bonus is that the Leisure Garden is directly across and contains some projects by various art students over the years in Sector 10. ”
