“Well must-see, iconic beach - well, yea. Northern California has it's own twist on how we do beaching. San Gregorio creek empties in the ocean here and in that, after a good storm, brings sometime huge tree limbs which quickly work themselves into drift wood. Sometimes you will find entire shelters made by people on the beach from the limbs that have drifted down from the redwoods. ”

“This is a most loved coast town by bay area locals and travelers alike. I have not met one friend who has not brought their families to half moon bay and enjoyed the time here. There are just so many things to do beyond hang out at the beach. My favorite thing is the food. You may enjoy the views and many activities the public beaches and farms provide. You can go along the coast by car, boat, bike, horse, or whatever. And don't forget if you stay in the town, you can also hike in the hills (my choice is Purisima Creek Trail) nearby or just spend a day in the SF city as well which is less 30 min drive away. All are within short distance. It is very relaxing and versatile. Maybe that is the reason why everyone who visited wants to come back and explore more. ”
