“Cannot be missed. Hire bikes from the park entrance of the Dublin Bike scheme from in front of Kilmainham Gaol (credit card required, €5 for 3 days). Park is vast and features Dublin Zoo, Stately homes and beautiful tea shops. Full of beautiful wild deer. 20 minutes walk from house. ”

“Temple Bar is commonly known as the tourist hub of Dublin but to the natives it's not just somewhere to catch a hen party. Located right beside the Liffey this neighbourhood includes some great galleries, cafés and cultural spots to enjoy aside from the general atmosphere of drinking and debauchery. Temple Bar is full of exciting places to expand your cultural and artistic horizons. Drop into Meeting House Square to see if their are any free concerts, film screenings or markets on offer that day. Drop into the Irish Film Institute to attend to your indie film cravings and enjoy their trendy café or head down to Temple Bar Gallery + Studios to check out the latest Irish contemporary art that's on offer. With all these venues within a minutes walking distance from one another you have no reason not to.”

Church
“Saint Patrick’s Cathedral has been part of Ireland’s history for over 800 years and today is one of the most popular visitor attractions in Dublin. Built in honour of Ireland’s patron saint between 1220 and 1260 Saint Patrick’s Cathedral offers visitors a rich and compelling cultural experience and is one of the few buildings left from medieval Dublin. It is the National Cathedral of the Church of Ireland and is the largest Cathedral in the country. Jonathan Swift, author of Gulliver’s Travels, was Dean of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in the 1700s and he is one of many burials on site. The Cathedral is world famous for its choir which still performs daily during school term and in recent years the Lady Chapel, dating from 1270, has been restored to its original glory and a new exhibition called Lives Remembered has opened which includes a specially commissioned tree sculpture and marks the centenary of World War 1. Guided tours of the Cathedral happen regularly throughout the day or a free App can be used for self-guide purpose. stpatrickscathedral.ie ”

Church
“Christ Church Cathedral is the official seat of both the Church of Ireland and the Catholic Church in Ireland. The original cathedral was a wooden church built shortly after the Viking King Sitric Silkenbeard made a pilgrimage to Rome in 1028. Rebuilt in stone and expanded over the next few centuries, the Cathedral has been a fixture in the city of Dublin for nearly a millennium. The oldest remaining section of the cathedral is the underground crypts, which dates to the 1170s -- take a tour and learn about Christ Church's pet cat and rat! Admission is €7 for adults, €5.50 for students and seniors.”

Indie Movie Theater
“Art house and main stream cinema. Light House is one of Dublin's most vibrant cultural spaces with 614 seats across 4 screens including a cafe and subterranean bar built into the framework of an underground car park. Our excellent presentation and unique programming style has earned us the reputation as one of the best cinemas in Ireland with accolades from the likes of the Guardian Film Awards (Highly Commended Best Cinema) and ARTINFO (Coolest Cinema in the World). Chill out in our bar before or after your movie or alternatively enjoy craft beers, wine and cocktails from our bar in screen.”

“A stunning Cathedral in the City Centre. Christ Church Cathedral, originally a Viking Church, is almost 1,000 years old. It was founded circa 1028, is Dublin’s oldest working structure, and is the spiritual heart of Dublin. It is also one of Ireland’s top visitor attractions and a place of pilgrimage through the centuries. It is a must see”
