“Plymouth Hoe, referred to locally as the Hoe, is a large south-facing open public space in the English coastal city of Plymouth. The Hoe is adjacent to and above the low limestone cliffs that form the seafront and it commands views of Plymouth Sound, Drake's Island, and across the Hamoaze to Mount Edgcumbe in Cornwall. The name derives from the Anglo-Saxon word Hoe, a sloping ridge shaped like an inverted foot and heel.”

“15-20 minutes drive along the fantastic coastline and the Quantock Hills known as Coleridge Company. Coleridge lived in this area for several years and wrote his most famous poems whilst here. His old house is a small place to visit but it is set amongst a small but bustling village with a butchers and several pubs and shop. Very quaint village and once you have seen Coleridge Cottage you could commence the walk along ‘Coleridge Way’ across the Quantocks or go the other side of the road and pick up the West Somerset Coast Path.”

“Really lovely woodlands to visit for a walk along the river bank. Found on the outskirts of the small market town of Bovey Tracey, gateway to mystical Dartmoor. You can walk from the town (about one mile) or stop off as you drive to the open moor, where the next stop is the rugged crag of Haytor. Take wellies. Includes: a vegetable garden, fruit garden and orchard ice house, fish pond, grazing meadows for livestock and beehives for honey and gardens to wander in for spiritual refreshment. Free to enter, £2 parking (check prices before visiting). Lovely cafe with amazing food. Walking distance to Bovey Tracey, lovely town with Arts Centre and lots of independent shops and cafes.”
