“Beautiful gardens that change seasonally. Check their website for ongoing events. Great place for photos. I suggest taking an Uber from the guesthouse, as parking is pricey.”

Zoo
“My favorite thing about the Dallas Zoo is the animals always seem happy. It has great shows, zoo food standards, and a monorail ride that is very educational. Don't miss the Simmons Hippo Outpost or the Gorilla Exhibit that is home to some of the most endangered Gorilla's and two new"ish" babies born back to back in 2019. They are certainly happy! ”

Library
“This museum hosts 14,000-square-feet of exhibits and interactive displays, including a 22-foot tall ravaged steel beam from the World Trade Center and a full-scale walk-through replica of the Bush Oval Office. The George W. Bush Presidential Center is a terrific place for all ages to learn about history and Bush's experiences during his presidency.”

“If you looking for a great walk, give this a try. If you head towards downtown to the east, the trial will end and loop back around to bring you back. From our location is about a 3 mile walk from start to finish. ”

“Coombs Creek Trail is a multiuse hard surface trail matching along Kessler Parkway between Stevens Park Golf Course and Kessler Parkway Park. The 1.5-mile hike and bike path provides access to the Trinity River levee, as well as the Oak Cliff neighborhood. It is hoped that it will eventually link up with the Trinity Skyline Trail. Interesting tidbit: there are rumors the trail is “haunted”.”

“This paved trail is easily accessible from the guest house. It can be found on the map included here. To access it, turn right on Shady Lane coming out of our driveway. Walk to the corner and turn left on Eastus. Follow Eastus all the way down the hill and you’ll see the trail across the street. Follow it in either direction, but know that it’s not yet looped, so you’ll have to turn around to get home.”
