“Take a step back in time to visit this world famous open air museum, telling the story of life in North East England during the 1820s, 1900s & 1940s. Ride on a tram, see how cinder toffee is made, talk to the animals on the working farm, play hopscotch in the old schoolyard, pop into the Sun Inn for a pint after trip to the colliery.....There's plenty to keep visitors of all ages occupied for a full day and it's only a 15 minute drive away.”

“A must see for anyone visiting this area and just over 20 minutes away in the car. A stunning display of natures finest and several different walks can be done here. Taking the road towards Middleton in Teesdale it is very easy to find and has a large carpark opposite which is around £4 to park. You can do a short and easy walk to the bottom of the falls which is all on pathway and there are several other longer routes to take in more of the area around the falls. Suitable for all abilities and distances. ”
