Park
“Excellent trail system about 8 miles from cabin down Barlow Trail Road. To access the main trailhead, you have to pedal about 3 miles up a paved logging road climbing approximately 2,000'. If you are a beginner or novice, there is a loop around the parking lot and an entry point to Lower Hide and Seek about 1.5 miles up the logging road. Laura's Loop about .5 mile up is nice for beginners, and at .75 TNT/Little Monkey has slopestyle jumps for those wanting to air it out. For more advanced riders there are few options at the top, including my favorite: Communication Breakdown (flow)-Quid Pro Flow (flow)-338(XC)-Two Turntables (fast and tight), Lower Hide and Seek (flow).”

“This park has paved pathways, picnic areas and hiking trails that run along the Salmon River. They have a fish viewing window and you can see the salmon spawning in the river sometimes. There's an interesting topographical map that shows the area really well.”

Park
“This is a beautiful, relatively easy forest walk. Despite being close to Mt. Hood, it's almost a 12-month-a-year hike, starting at below 2,000 feet of elevation. There's nothing out of the ordinary here--no big waterfalls or mountain views--but as forest hikes go, it's an excellent one. Books list many different distances for the trail, but one common one is 7.0 miles (round-trip) to an open area some 600 feet above the (not visible) river.”

Park
“If the weather's hot enough, many people will swim in the creek at this part. There are some great hiking trails that send you upstream to see some great bedrock formations. The park is peaceful and wooded with a playground for the kids.”
