Madscenen i Cambridge

Restaurant
“The Eagle is one the oldest inns in Cambridge dating back to the 14th century. A very traditional experience with cask ales and home cooked food. Blue Plaque commemorates Watson and Crick's announcement they had discovered 'the secret of life'. The RAF Bar ceiling with graffiti of World War II airmen.”

Cafe
“Hot Numbers Coffee has 2 locations, both fabulous and as expected very busy. Another family owned and operated indy, the owner is an absolute stand-up gent - Simon is coffee roaster by day, DJ by night. Also an avid collector of vintage motorcycles and coffee machines which are now on display at his roastery in Stapleford Granary, CB22 5BP. Take a little bike ride out to Haslingfield and you can visit his wife Nilu's cafe - the Moringa Tree. Haslingfield is also an idyllic little english village much smaller than Cambridge with church grounds, and a gift shop. Well worth the visit!”

“Once you're done punting down the river and taking in the scenic sights and soothing sounds of the beautiful university city of Cambridge, pay Midsummer House a visit. Relaxed and elegant, with a sunny conservatory and perfect al fresco dining for warm summer evenings. Creative dishes with a sophisticated touch learned by Chef Patron Daniel Clifford throughout his years in Britain's and France's best restaurants. Passionate about ingredients, Clifford even uses the harvest from Midsummer House own 80 year old apple trees in his cookery. ”

“Google The Geldart or check out its Facebook page to see who is playing. They usually have music on Sunday afternoons. They have a very meat heavy menu - zebra and ostrich etc. so the food is not for everyone. Good atmosphere. Nice beer garden in the summer. (15 minute walk from River Lane)”
