“Lovely woodland for walking/running. Great for families and a natural playground for kids with dens, hollow logs and piles of leaves to play in. Nice to combine with a visit to the suspension bridge: cross over the bridge (£1 toll in a car, free on foot/bike) and take the first right hand turn after the bridge. Follow the road round for half a mile or so and there’s a gate into the woods on the right. Pick your path and enjoy! Head upwards for views of Bristol and the suspension bridge from across the Avon Gorge. 20mins taxi, 30mins bike or take the train from Stapleton road to Clifton Down and walk 20mins from there. ”
