In the course of history it used to be known under several names: Felső (Upper) gate, Corpus Christi and Saint Catherine, which is used today. “Reputedly the narrowest street in Europe and certainly the narrowest in Romania, Rope Street (Strada Sforii) connects Cerbului with Poarta Schei in Braşov’s Old Town. It is 262.5 feet (80 meters) long and just 3.5 to 4.5 feet (1.10–1.35 meters) wide, making it almost impossible for two people to pass each other. It has its origins somewhere around the beginnings of the 17th century and may have been built for access by firefighters into the Old Town.”

“The St Bartholomew Evangelical church is the oldest building in Brasov. Built in the 13th century its folk name was 'the maiden' due to a belief that the church was built at the initiative of three maidens who after their death left their entire possessions to the church. As a tribute the church-goers buried the bodies of the three maidens under the altar. The three-nave church with its massive surrounding walls outlasted the Turkish invasion and the 1689 great fire, as well as the raids of Vlad Țepeș (1458) and Báthory Gábor (1611.) Its tower collapsed in the 1822 earthquake and was rebuilt a storey higher in 1842. The western, southwestern and most of the northern section of the middle age”

“According to the opinion of some of the specialists who studied, the city of Oratea was built at the beginning of the 13th century, presumably in 1212, by the Teutonic Cavalier, at the request of King Andrew II of Hungary, as an outpost of the defense system The Barsa country. Currently, the old fortification is ruined. Only a few portions of walls have been preserved, the fortress being in an advanced state of degradation and invaded by vegetation. Among the specialists who were assigned to the Teutonic Knights the building of the fortress is I. Puşcariu, A. Lapedatu and Gustav Treiber. Treiber relies on this technical construction hypothesis, characteristic of the tower that is open.”
