“In January 2015, Ellsworth Kelly gifted the Blanton a design concept for his most monumental work: the first and only building the artist designed, as well as the last project before his death in December 2015. The stained glass in this building is super cool! One of Austin’s better museums. ”

“This place is great! Its a beautifull villa/artschool. Would be nice to combine with a trip to peacock park and mount Bonnel. You can walk around on their premises for free and stroll thru their sculture garden with work of amongst others AiWeiWei. Sometimes they also have one day courses in for example natural dying or wheelthrowing.”

“One of the most visited attractions in Austin, the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum boasts more than 45 million pages of historical documents and papers from President LBJ's lengthy career. The museum, dedicated in 1971 and refurbished in 2013, contains exhibits relating to the president's time in office, as well as important issues of the day, including the rise of the civil rights movement. Also of interest is an impressive scale replica of the Oval Office as it would have been during Johnson's presidency, and many temporary exhibits related to American history are hosted throughout the year.”

“One of the loveliest drives any time of year in Austin happens on the Capital of Texas/360 Highway as you cross over Lake Austin (really the Colorado River). The rust-colored curved steel bridge — named officially for the architect, Percy V. Pennyback — is an architectural wonder in itself, stretching 1,150 feet across the lake without ever touching it. This keeps the lake clear for boaters and water skiers who love this hill-covered stretch of West Austin as much as the commuters who travel across it everyday on their way to work. The bridge is four lanes wide in addition to a six foot wide pedestrian and biking lane, and a southbound turnaround that allows for parking below the bridge. Sunsets are especially phenomenal as you cross over the bridge because you can take in the huge expanse of sky in all directions.”

“A truly "Austin" spot, castle hill is where all the best graffiti artists in town go to make their mark. Old school pros mingle with aspiring graffiti artists and the result is an outdoor art gallery for the people sprayed out on the footprint of what i believe is an old school foundation. Its a tourist destination for a reason but its also a blast to go and snap some pictures at. ”
