Carve a stone seal with a craft woman in Insadong Seoul
Hi. I am Helen Jeongju Kim. In this workshop, I will not only teach you how to write beautifully, but also how to experience the joy of carving a handcrafted seal. You will create a design using your name. During this activity, your mind will relax and you will experience healing through the slow analog, tactile sensibility of everyday life. I will teach you how to design and carve your name with a engraving knife on a small stone. First, I shows two ways to engrave the seal and demonstrates how to carve with a carving knife.(straight line, circle, etc.) Then I helps you learn to hold the engraving tool and practice properly. Next, I show the way to design the names and help to design according to syllable of name. You go for it and then cover with ink of Korean style and take a stamp. Once the engraving is over, you can choose a elegant case for your stone seal. It will be an opportunity to rethink the meaning of your name that you have forgotten while carving the seal. When you return home, you'll enjoy looking at the stamp you carved and remembering your travels. I'll write down a message for you in K-calligraphy after you have stamp your seal on a postcard I prepare. Public transportation is convenient. Other things to note -The name stone is not as hard as you think. -Even a 10-year-old can use a tool to carve an own seal.

Akahada-yaki Pottery with local rare clay in Nara
First I explain a little about what is special about “Akahada-yaki”. Then I hand over the raw clay to guests for appreciation and touching.Imagine this clay will be given life and become a work in your daily life! Have in your mind a image of your own design. Eg. If you participate with your partner, making same teacups for each other might be a memorable experience! I will also advise for your design from easiness of making or solidity in use. When design is finished, then we start building and shaping by wheel throwing. (See my demonstration!) It’s really a fun to turn a wheel! You can either concentrate in your work, or get more inspiration watching at my works in the gallery. Final step is to scrape and write your name at the bottom of your work. That’s how it works! And let’s have a tea break and Japanese sweet over imagining the finished condition of your work. I will dry and bake your work, then duly pack it , which takes 4 months (or longer in high seasons) in total till dispatching for shipment. (International shipment cost should be additionally paid at the class. For some countries shipment may not be possible, please ask.) About the cost or acceptability of international shipment of your completed pottery to your country, please check with us beforehand.(For some countries we reccommed to use more costly Fedex service for safety.)
Balinese cooking class on organic farm
Our tour will begin on the farm with a welcome drink. While relaxing in a shaded part of the farm, I will present our community movement and teach you about how we grow our organic produce. After enjoying the welcome drink, we will walk along the community farm and learn about organic farming and the unique UNESCO- protected Subak System in Bali. During the farm tour, we will pick the ingredients that we are going to use during the cooking class for a true farm to table cooking experience. Once we arrive at the centre of the community, Mai Organic farm, we will drink a refreshing juice made with vegetables and fruit from our local farms. Following the drink, we will prepare six Balinese dishes, such as tuna sate and corn fritters. Students are able to participate as much or as little as they would like. We keep our class sizes small (max 8 people) to allow guests to be more involved in the cooking process and to provide better attention to each guest. After we finish cooking, we will teach you about our traditional offerings that we give to mother nature. Lastly, you will enjoy your meal in a tranquil gubuk (hut) with new friends from the tour. By supporting Mai Organic Farm, you are supporting a community of local farmers from Pejeng. Our movement aims to support the local farmers' and villagers' income while providing them with resources to improve their quality of life. Other things to note Free transfer service from Ubud centre only. If guests are staying outside of Ubud centre, we can help arrange transportation for a fee. Mai Organic is a community-led movement to preserve traditional and organic agricultural village life in Bali.

Secret path in Fushimi inari shrine & discover Shinto spirit
Let's hike a beautiful unknown way to Fushimi Inari shrine, inside a big mountain chatting about Japanese philosophy Shintoism and a well-known religion Zen Buddhism. I'm happy to answer any quesions about Japan as a local who knows positive sides & negative sides since I was born here. There are so many paths including a dangerous way to higher sites. Nowadays the main roads are extremely crowded and have no peace, although it is a spiritual place. I will show you a secret path with bamboos at the backside of the shrine. In other places, bamboo streets are a famous Japanese symbol that are full of tourists. But here I can show you that it is not like that. Fushimi Inari shrine had been a silent and calm place for many years until it became as famous as it is today. But there is still some territory that has not yet been discovered by tourists because it is not easy to find it by them and once you got lost there, it would be hard to come back. We'll take such a silent path. If you have a request for your most convenient time or date, feel free to ask me to adjust my schedule. I'll flexibly fit to your schedule. Any requests on short notice are welcome too. Other things to note 1. I recommend you have a drink before starting and wear comfortable walking shoes. 2. There are steps on the way up & down. 3. Relieve yourself beforehand since there aren't bathrooms till come back
Pensel og blæk (japansk kalligrafi)

We can talk and discuss our today's work after our lesson, over cookies and tea. You could say that it was the most impressive and memorable experience on your trip.

Damnoen Saduak Floating Market & Railway Market
Everyday 2 times: 7:15 AM and 10:30 AM After 1 to 1,5 hours driving we arrive at the famous Mae Klong train market (Talat Rom Hup). Imagine a train going straight through a public market! The Mae Klong Railway Market has been around since 1905. Fishing was (and still is) one of the main livelihoods of the people who lived here, and the market was another way in which to sell their goods. Officials decided to build a railway in order to better deliver these goods to other provinces. The market stayed at the same place though, despite the new tracks that cut through it. Visit Wat Bang Kung, famous for its small chapel that is completely enclosed within the roots of a banyan tree. It is almost like the tree itself is the pillars of the temple and that without the roots the chapel would fall down. You can also go inside to pay respect to the Buddha image. Continue to Damnoen Saduak where we board a long-tail boat for a ride through the canals before we reach the famous floating market of Damnoen Saduak. Although the market evolved more into a tourist attraction nowadays, it’s still worth the visit for its unique atmosphere and the experience it offers. THE EXACT MEETING TIME/DEPARTURE TIME WILL BE INFORMED IN A PERSONAL MESSAGE TO YOU THE DAY BEFORE THE TOUR. PLEASE READ OUR MESSAGE CAREFULLY AND KEEP IN MIND THAT WE HAVE TO START ON TIME.
Bangkok Canal Tour by Long-tail boat
Everyday 5 times: 8:00, 9:30, 12:30, 15:30, 16:30 hrs. Hop on a typical Thai long-tail boat to explore the Bangkok Yai Canal in Thonburi, the ancient capital of Thailand. During our 2-hour canal adventure you will explore life on and around the klongs (canals) and get a glimpse of how the local people live. Elderly people sitting on the chairs on the wooden docks of their tiny homes overlooking the canal, women hanging laundry to dry, and children jumping into the water and swimming in the canal, amazing! We will make a stop at Baan Silapin (The Artist's House), a traditional Thai house that has been converted into a public space to preserve art and traditional performance styles. The wooden house, over 200 years old and lovingly restored by its owner, sits at the heart of a small community of rustic shophouses which are connected by a wooden walkway that follows the edge of the klong (canal). Furthermore, we pass Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen, built in the mid-Ayutthaya period in the Phasi Charoen District in Thonburi. The boat driver will stop the boat so that you can take a good photo of the huge Buddha statue at this temple. The Buddha statue is towering nearly 70 meters above the ground, the height of a 20-story building, and it is Bangkok's biggest Buddha image, with a width of 40 meters in its cross-legged meditation posture.
