Boligen
Large room with ensuite and private entry located in the downstairs area of our house. We live upstairs; you live downstairs. You have your own private entrance so you can come and go with your own key to your own private accommodation.

You will be staying on the lower (modern) level of a classic Queenslander style house (upstairs).

Note that there may be other guests staying in the other part of the lower house - but you each have your own self-contained space.

You have a private entry so you can come and go with your own key to your own self-contained space. You have your own ensuite bathroom (not shared) and your own kitchenette facilities (not shared). So this airbnb listing is almost as good as having your own small studio apartment.

This room is a large suite (4100mm X 4300mm) with wall-mounted TV and dining table for two as well as your bed.

You have your own modern private ensuite (not shared bathroom). You have your own mini-bar fridge and a microwave as part of the kitchenette facilities which are set up in our laundry (entry to laundry is adjacent to entry to your room).

There is also a covered outdoor area just outside the French doors leading in to your room which includes a gas barbecue you are welcome to cook on.

The kitchenette comes with a mini bar fridge, a microwave oven, electric kettle, anespresso (coffee pod) machine, toaster, mini fry pan and a single electric hotplate for cooking rice, pasta or "everything in the one pot" type of meals. Please look at all listing pictures . . . :-)

Sleeps up to 3 (e,g,. two adults travelling with one child). The normal bedding consists of a double bed. However, IF YOU REQUEST AHEAD OF YOUR ARRIVA, we can also provide extra linen for the trundle bed (which slides underneath the main bed during the day).

The longer-term (monthly) discount price is only available to single person/solo travellers. If you are a single person looking for a longer stay pption in Brisbane, please duscuss your needs with us. We did once host a university professor here in Brisbane for a 13-week sabbatical and it all worked out well. But we may need to discuss your needs to see if we think we can meet them!

Our house is like a "dual occupancy house". The downstairs house has two bedrooms each with ensuite, with a kitchen and living room and so the full downstairs area can be rented as a whole (which is like having your own comfortable modern home with plenty of space).

Most of the time, however we rent it out as two separate guests suites (more like having your own hotel room with private entry).

If you rent one of these "guest suites"), it is possible you may occasionally hear some background noise from someone who might be staying in the other room. As long as guests are considerate of one another there is no problem. Imagine that you are living in a house that has been divided into two apartments - if people are noisy, especially at night, they might annoy people in the other apartment! So long as you are aware of your noise and considerate to people on the other side of the internal wall, you will have no problem. As your hosts, if you promptly and discreetly report a noise problem to us, we will promptly and discreetly address the problem with the guests staying in the other room.

The best thing about this airbnb listing is that it is separate from our family home upstairs and thus gives you what is pretty close to being self-contained accommodation at a competitive price.

We hardly hear our guests come and go, and guests usually don't hear us going about our lives upstairs. So, for a short-stay guest, your experience staying with us will be similar to having your own self-contained (although perhaps not totally soundproof) studio apartment.

The local area is well-served by public transport. The Brisbane airtrain travelling to the Gold Coast from Brisbane airport provides you with a direct link to our place. You get off at Park Road Railway station which is a 10 minute walk from our place.



We will make every effort to allow for 24 hour check in (e.g, in the middle of the night if you are arriving on a late flight) by making arrangements that enable you to collect your key and let yourself into your room without needing to disturb us,

We have irregular schedules. Therefore, we no longer aspire to be Airbnb "Superhosts", but we do aspire towards 5 stars in terms of "Value for Money". So we appreciate guests who communicate any specific needs ahead of their arrival, and can accept that maybe everything is not always perfect but still pretty good in terms of what you pay!

We offer a 12% discount for guests staying for one week or more. If you are asking for two weeks, or three weeks - please request a "special offer" before submitting an "instant booking" and we may be able to make a deal . . . .

If you are arriving during the night (while we are asleep) or on a day when we are both happen to be working, we can make arrangements for you to collect your key and let yourselves in. But this requires communication ahead of time so we can message you with clear instructions!

Catch the bus to the city from the Logan Road end of our street. Bus routes 174, 175 and 204, or Maroon City Glider Tourist Bus (Route 61). A go card is essential for riding the Maroon City Glider. We recommend you purchase a go card from the translink website, even if your stay is short. You can get the purchase cost refunded when you cancel the card. Look at the Brisbane translink website for more information.

No off street parking available. If you have a car, we may be able to provide you with a parking permit to be displayed on the dashboard of your car which will prevent you from getting a parking ticket if your car is parked in our street for more than 2 hours between the hours of 9 am and 5pm Monday to Friday. Just let us know that you will need this before you arrive. There will be a $20 security deposit required for the parking permit which will be returned when you give the permit back on your day of departure.

We are a professional couple, both working in health care, with an 17 year old daughter still living at home with us. We each work different days/hours from one week to the next, but we do our best to provide hospitality and information while we are here. We do like to meet our guests and have a chat, as you are staying with us as a guest in our own home! But if it is your preference, we can leave you alone to have privacy in your own self-contained accommodation. However, we are always available to answer questions and provide information or assistance if this might make your stay in Brisbane go more smoothly. The most reliable way to communicate with us is using the airbnb app installed on your smart phone.
