Beliggenhed

Machynlleth, Storbritannien

Machynlleth is considered to be the 'ancient capital of Wales'. It was here that the Welsh rebel leader Owain Glyndwr set up his Welsh Parliament in 1404.
Nearby at Dinas Mawddwy the first bridge upstream across the River Dyfi was built and can still be seen today.
The grand clock tower which stands in the centre of Machynlleth on the site of the old Town hall was erected by the townspeople to celebrate the coming of age of Charles Stewart Vane-Tempest, Viscount Castlereagh, the eldest son of Earl Vane and his wife. The foundation stone was laid on 15 July 1874. The apartment is next to a pub/eatery; great for most guests, but it can be a bit noisy at the rear until midnight at the weekends.
