Boligen
Introduction

We provide an exceptionally quiet, comfortable, eclectic and picturesque, b&b in the Adelaide ("Tuscan") Hills. Our two storey sandstone home has lots of light and is settled in a beautiful half acre garden where you can sit, walk, rest and recover. It is cooler here than on the Adelaide plains.

Rooms

We have two separate rooms listed in Airbnb. This listing is for Blue Wren. This large, east facing bedroom is the most even temperature room in the house. It is downstairs, opposite the bathroom. It is very spacious and has views over the front garden. It has an over head fan, large settee, fly screens, queen size bed, with electric blanket, and a room heater.

Bathroom

There is a large bathroom opposite the bedroom with bath, large shower cubicle and toilet. Bathroom essentials and a hair dryer are provided. There is another extra separate toilet. These are shared facilities.

Breakfast

We serve breakfast in the breakfast room. It consists of a choice of cereals, fruit in season, yoghurt, toast, home made jams, variety of teas and real coffee. If you choose, we can breakfast with you and chat.
Let us know if you have special dietary requirements.
You can make a cup of tea/coffee any time in the kitchen. Otherwise, the kitchen is not available.

Local Area

Four eating places are a 4 minutes walk away, and, another five are a 4 minutes drive away.

At the top of the street you can catch a bus into the city, or, after another 5 minutes walk you arrive at the local railway station for trains into the city. We provide Metro cards which can be topped up at the delicatessen at the top of the street.

Further afield
Adelaide has been given the status of: "The City of Music" by UNESCO Cultural Creative Cities Network. So, there is a myriad of fascinating places to visit in the city area. One useful website is Trip Advisor for Adelaide.
The international airport, coast and city are 25 minutes drive away. All of them can easily be accessed by bus, tram or train. You can purchase a Metro Ticket on board and this lasts for 2 hours use on bus, trains and tram. The Adelaide City Transport system is effective and efficient. Many guests have coped easily without a hire car. We can pick you up or drop you off at the airport for $25 per trip.

The areas around Adelaide are world famous for their "Tuscan Hills" and wine growing regions.
The Barossa Valley is a 1 hour drive, the Clare Valley 2 hours and McClaren Vale just 30 minutes.

Extras

Safe, off-road parking is available.
Please discuss laundry matters with us if needed. A steam iron is available.

Gæsteadgang
The outside area (weather permitting) is for your use. A micro wave is available to warm up take-aways and you can use the breakfast area or patio to eat.

Andre ting, der er værd at bemærke
We have a Bushfire Survival Plan which we implement on "severe, extreme and catastrophic" fire danger days. We will give you details on such days at breakfast.
Adelaide has a dry climate and temperatures can be extreme. Winters are wet but piercingly cold, so clothing layers, gloves, scarf and hat are needed. Summer is hot and dry so body cream, lots of drinking water and sun hat are recommended.

My wife and I are international travelers who have had international visitors for years. We love to talk with people from different countries. We are both active and fit retirees who are presently re-claiming our home from our 4 children who have left the nest. We love our home, the surrounding bush and our Victorian city. We are keen gardeners, presently planting mediteranean type-plants in our 1/2 acre garden.
