Hi! And a little about me......
I'm originally from Boston, Massachusetts, but spent part of my life in other beautiful places, like California, Maine, Florida, Costa Rica and the Philippines.
I've had an interesting array of careers in my life. I started out in the high tech industry back in the late 70's, which eventually brought me to California. Then, the sudden passing of my Dad brought me back to New England, where I settled into the southern coast of Maine.
After 14 years in the computer industry, I decided to try something different. With enough money stashed away, I was able to buy a parcel of commercial real estate in Ogunquit Maine, with 3 apartments, a mom and pop deli and enough vacant space to remodel and rent out a few other commercial businesses. That was the beginning of my self employment into the business of buying, remodeling and renting property.
I tried my hand at running the deli, but quickly found out it was not for me! Along the way, I met several contractors in the building trades. (they loved our subs!). Real estate was always my passion, so I hired all the sub contractors to build a home for me and started my career as a General Contractor. After several years of living in the North East, I grew tired of the long, cold winters. A friend of mine just returned from a trip to Costa Rica and told me all about the beautiful country. I did a bit of research and booked a flight to see for myself. I quickly fell in love with this place! I wanted to try building here, but thought it would be better to own a home first, so I would have a place to stay and then rent it out while I'm not there. While looking at lots in the the hills, overlooking the ocean, I stumbled upon this home with the most amazing view I have ever seen. I stood in the back yard, 500 feet above the ocean and said, "this is the place"! I quickly bought it and started my new business of renting out this spectacular view home! (I wish Airbnb was around at that time!) .
After seventeen years of owning and renting my home in Costa Rica, I decided it was time to try something else.
