Welcome to Jake Cabin at Wauhatchie Woodlands, a Timberroot Rustic Retreat.

During your stay, you’ll enjoy a private hot tub with cabana & privacy curtains, furnished back deck, covered front porch with charcoal grill, and an incredibly memorable, charming space surrounded by nature.

Jake can comfortably sleep up to 4 guests between the main bedroom and sleeping loft. The cabin is equipped with a full kitchen, smart TV, private washer dryer combo, and more.

Boligen
Wauhatchie Woodlands is a family-owned collection of quaint, tiny-home, rustic-comfort log cabins on a 14-acre wooded property surrounded by National Park land. This natural setting is nested less than a mile from the city with quick access to downtown Chattanooga, Ruby Falls, Lookout Mountain, and the surrounding area.

Named after Wauhatchie's long time handyman, Jake is one of our luxurious cabana cabins.

Outside you’ll find your luxury outdoor spa–a private covered hot tub, complete with bistro lighting and curtains for extra privacy. Just beside the cabana is your fire pit, shared with the cabin next door, perfect for fireside chats and evening s'mores.

Up the steps from the spa cabana, is the spacious back deck furnished with four adirondack chairs. At the other end of the cabin is your covered porch with charcoal grill and outdoor dining set.

Inside, the main bedroom hosts a queen bed, four closets for hanging clothes, lots of drawer storage, and a Smart TV. Just outside the bedroom is your dedicated washer and dryer combo unit on the right and the full bathroom with bathtub on the left.

A step further we enter the kitchen, fully stocked for cooking/dining with an electric range, microwave, stove, full-size fridge, dishwasher, and all the dishes you need to whip up a vacation feast. The living room and kitchen feature an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings with the main TV across from the sofa.

Up the staircase is the sleeping loft equipped with two twin beds. Kids will love having their own space. For grownups, clearance in the loft is low, just 4' - it’s perfect for sleeping, just watch your head when you get up.

Once an old trailer park, the May family has lovingly rehabilitated this 14-acre property at the base of Lookout Mountain into a tranquil retreat, surrounded by forest. Wauhatchie Woodlands offers a natural escape just minutes from beautiful Downtown Chattanooga, blending modern comfort with a unique rustic experience.

Chattanooga has been recognized by Outdoor Magazine, Southern Living, Tripadvisor, Thrillist Zagat and many more media outlets as a must-visit destination for travelers of all kinds.

You’ll be staying less than a mile from one of Tennessee's most popular attractions, Ruby Falls, and just over five miles from Rock City.

If you’re craving the great outdoors, you’ll find no shortage of hikes, waterfalls, overlooks, and historical sites, all within just a few minutes of your cabin. A short walk from the property is the Skyuka Springs trailhead, which will connect you to Sunset Rock, Point Park, the Chattanooga Nature Center, and more. Raccoon Mountain Caverns are only 4 miles away and offer both walking and wild cave exploration tours. If you’re here for rock climbing, you’ll be less than a mile from Sunset Rock Climbing Crag, with Tennessee Wall and many other climbing spots just a few miles away. Located right off the Tennessee river, a day on (or in) the water is close at hand, with several conveniently located boat drops and ample opportunities for rafting, kayaking, or SUP-ing.

Less than 10 minutes away, Downtown Chattanooga offers world-class dining and entertainment options for all ages. Visit the Tennessee Aquarium, voted one of America's 10 best by USA Today. Enjoy a bite to eat at the historic Chattanooga Choo Choo complex which includes a brewery, distillery, several restaurants, and an array of seasonal activities. For a fun afternoon, visit the Selfe Museum, hit some balls at Top-Golf, or take one of Chattanooga’s pedal bike brewery tours. If history is what attracted you, Wauhatchie Woodland sits a stones throw from the site of the decisive Civil War “Battle Above the Clouds.” The property is bordered by National Park land, preserving the historic battlefield. Point Park, at the top of Lookout Mountain includes several Civil War memorials and an interpretive center. The area has long, rich history dating back thousands of years to the early Cherokee people who called the mountain Chat-a-nu-ga, the city's namesake.

We have loved world travels our entire life though as parents of 8 kids, we move more between TN and Utah, our two family homes, than anywhere else. Frank is an entrepreneur and business owner, lover of history, plants, nature, his faith, philosophy, and our family. Nicole, who stays home to manage our large family and the properties enjoys being in nature, bird watching, trail running with our dogs, date nights with Frank, cuddling with our little ones and cats, conversations with the older kids, studying Gods word, and coffee talks with friends. She loves her Heavenly Father, her family, coffee, and wishing she did not love so much sugar! We love Chattanooga and Southern Utah for too many reasons to list, but also cherish variety and the beauty so many places in the world have to offer.

As hosts, Nicole is home a lot during the day when not out in the community serving and we live on the property, So you will find us responsive, accommodating, and eager to share the treasures of our town and learn the treasures of your own. We know the trails, many waterfalls, parks, restaurants, and attractions of Chattanooga quite well and are willing to be a resource for our guests, offering an intimate knowledge of our home areas of East TN and Southern Utah.

As a traveler, on business I tend to work, read and rest if I can, and prefer to travel with associates or family when I can. As a vacationer, I am eager to share and celebrate the diversity of creation and humanity with my family and to give them an explorers heart, a warmth for difference, and a bit of zeal for travel too. I prefer National Parks to cities, but cities carry their own attraction. I prefer mountains to beaches, forests to fields, and local to corporate or suburban.
