The Rooms: The two story rooms are both private and yours.

The upstairs bedroom: The bedroom has a full Casper mattress. The leaves and pink walls and ceiling are all hand -painted by a local artist. The windows in the bedroom open out into the living room/dining room space. They have curtains you can close for full privacy. Note that the bedroom is very cozy and built to feel like an escape and playful tree-house. It is a loft bed area/room area. That means it has very low ceilings. You will not be able to stand up in that area. You will be able to in your private downstairs room.

Note there is no private staircase between the upstairs and the downstairs. Both do have doors that lock.

Downstairs Private Dressing Room:
Your downstairs private room is a combo dressing room/walk in closet. It is very cosy and stylish. You can hang out there - there are no windows in that room for complete privacy.

The Apartment and Shared Areas: The apartment is whimsical, colorful, and playful. We had an artist hand-paint a tropical plant mural along the wall, and used lively pastels to handprint the rest of the walls. There is a swing in the living room, a very comfy couch. The living room is covered in a wall of windows which looks out onto our local Brooklyn street.

The dining table seats 6. Cook all you want, We have a large fridge, stove, microwave, and all cooking materials are provided.

The bathroom is also colorfully painted with a full bathtub. We provide toiletries, all from eco-friendly, and when possible, local brands.

The Roof: We have a roof on top of the building with a beautiful view of Brooklyn and into Manhattan. It is one of those views that Brooklyn rooftops are famous for. In nicer weather, other tenants in the building hang out on the roof and sometimes there are parties. Everyone is really friendly and fun.

Laundry: We have a laundry room downstairs that is shared by the building. Note that you will need quarters.

We want to make the apartment feel like home while you are here. We value kindness, cleanliness, and respect for others who are staying in the apartment. We want to make sure you feel very welcome so always let us know what you need.

While we did set our checkin/checkout times we do our best to accommodate. Always ask if you can check in early or late - and we can also work with you to leave your luggage in the living room for a late or early travel.

Her skal du være

Brooklyn, New York, USA

We are in the heart of Bushwick where within our block you find a top Michelin Restaurant (Blanca), a pizza place with a beer garden where they use herbs they grow themselves (Roberta's), Food and Wine's Best Coffee Shop in America - SEY Coffee (one block away), and walls of graffiti done by indie artists that bring professional tours daily.
__
It is a lively and creative neighborhood of family 20-and 30-somethings, filled with indie art galleries, fashion boutiques, cafes, yoga studios, gyms, restaurants, and nightlife. You can go to a different place every day and night if you want and still not see everything. Or you can pick a neighborhood favorite. We are next door to the famous Roberta's Pizza - a local neighborhood (as well as celebrity) favorite, serving pizza containing ingredients cooked from their rooftop garden. Plus they have a really lively beer garden. Some other favorites on the block are Beacon's Closet - a stylish vintage clothing shop, a vegan bakery, Ange Noir - a cafe with WiFi, plush couches, and fun music at night, and a secret room in the back that you enter through an old fashioned phone booth.

You will also find within a very short walk - two Japanese restaurants, an Ethiopian restaurant, a fun bar Pine Box, Syndicated Bar Theater Kitchen - which as the name says, screens movies outdoors in their garden, or you can watch one inside at a table where they serve dinner and drinks. Also they have a fun bar.

We are about a 5-10 minute walk from the Loom. The Loom is a small shopping center with a Yoga/Pilates studio, food coop, fashion boutique, pet shop, coffee shops.

Check the graffiti murals covering the walls, all done by admired street artists, where professional tours come to admire possibly the next Banksy.

If you are looking for chain restaurants and hate graffiti this is not the neighborhood you want.

Whats Convenient: We are one block (about a 3 minute walk) to the Morgan stop on the L. It is about 10 minutes on the L train into Manhattan and 15 minutes into central Union Square station. Not only can you find something fun at almost any hour, you can also shop at one of two organic healthy grocery stores less than a block away. They not only have healthy snacks and groceries, but also basics such as toiletries (good brands like seventh generation)

You could never leave the neighborhood your whole stay, and not even come close to trying all the spots.

Williamsburg, Brooklyn (Bedford avenue) is about a 30 minute walk, 5 minute subway ride. It is like the slightly more upscale Bushwick. It has all the same indie, unique places and vibes as Bushwick, but is a little more "family." It also has some of the chains such as WholeFoods. And is packed with trendy and high-end workout studios such as SolidCore, Pure Barre.

And the blocks in between the two are filled with gems (cafes, bars, shops) to discover.

- NOTE IF YOU DO NOT LIKE GRAFFITI. LIKE CHAIN STORES AND RESTAURANTS, WANT TRADITIONAL LUXURY, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU.-
