Hello! We are partners who own a 4 bedroom 2 bathroom single level home in beautiful Oceanside. We are not a vacation rental property and this is the only property we own. One room has a private attached bath, the other 3 share the hall bathroom (the 4th bedroom is technically a “den”). ~

Although we live here, when you book the entire home, we will only access non-guest areas (the garage, front yard, and west facing side yard). We remain local and stop by to feed our cats daily but do not disturb our guests- however one of us or our co-hosts (neighbors who live close by) are always available to help with any needs during your stay. ~

Due to rising housing costs and other increased costs of living during this pandemic we began hosting airBnB to help us pay our mortgage. At this time we have turned off the function that allows airBnB to increase prices based on demand to help alleviate the rising cost of living for our guests. We have calculated the cost of our mortgage to create fixed prices for all of our rooms so our guests can share the benefits of us being single homeowners. We do not host airBnB to turn a profit and own no other properties. We also offer discounts if you book non-refundable, last minute, or in advance. Be sure to let us know about your individual situation as we are happy to help if we can by offering additional discounts. This is our home and your booking helps us keep the mortgage paid on time so Sarah can continue living in San Diego close to my children who live part time with their father. ~

Two of the rooms we list belong to our children and are used by them when they are living with us, these rooms are not available for long term stays as a result. ~

California native Kyle is a 16 year active duty Navy veteran (now reservist and civilian contractor) our home was purchased using his VA home loan in 2018. He’s traveled the world and most of our beach decor comes from the South Pacific and Hawaii. Kyle was recognized as the military photographer of the year for 2019. His niche is public affairs, videography, and photography. ~

Kyle also enjoys collecting sports memorabilia and you can expect a variety of sports games to be available to watch — and discuss — if that’s your thing! ~

I (Sarah) am a transplant from Minnesota. I spent 10+ years working in salons as a manager and hair dresser. In 2017 I returned to school to complete a two year degree and my paralegal certificate. I was laid off from my full time paralegal job due to the pandemic and now enjoy being home. I do contract work remotely and serve as your on site host for our listings. ~

I grew up in a large family, I love having a house full of people! Both Kyle and I are both relaxed and easy going, we want you to feel like you’re staying with family yet have as much privacy as you desire in the comfort of our cozy, pet & family friendly home. ~

I enjoy succulent gardening and hope you enjoy my plant projects in our backyard. I also rescue/foster animals from time to time, so you may see kittens or extra dogs during your stay. ~

At this time neither of us own other property. When you stay with at our airBnB you are entering our sanctuary where we live versus an uninhabited vacation rental. We always hope that this experience helps you feel more relaxed and at home. ~

We are frequently working on small (sometimes big!) home improvement projects— constantly finding ways to upgrade our home so guests have the best possible experience. We recently finished removing the remaining carpeted floors making our pet friendly home even more pet-proof! ~ **Be sure to let us know which parts of the house you plan to use during your stay as certain amenities may be limited during one of our improvement projects**

We specialize in hosting guests with pets— we do not charge a pet fee as we have 2 dogs (Hemlock and Jasper) as well as four cats (Donna, Toothless, Iris, and King). ~

Being an advocate and member of the LGBT community, our home is also a safe haven where pronouns are respected and all things queer are celebrated. ~

We are also very familiar with the stressors and sacrifices faced by military members and their families. Service members and their families can count on us to ensure their stay is suited to their unique needs. ~

We respect our guests' privacy and usually remain quiet, not disturbing our guests. However you’re always welcome to socialize with either of us during your stay. We are both fully vaccinated and still practicing masking and social distancing in public. ~
