Take a short walk over to Carlsmith Beach Park for a dip in the ocean where the lagoons create calm swimming areas and offer protection from the surf. The four-mile stretch of swimming coves in this area (called Keaukaha) is a wonderful location to introduce children and newcomers to the warm waters. And be sure to keep an eye out for sea turtles while you swim or scuba dive. When you get hungry, sample the Hawaiian-style surf 'n' turf at the Seaside Restaurant And Aqua Farm, just steps from your door.
