A generous, spacious private master bedroom in our beautiful home of warm, welcoming artists and activists. The room has its own entrance overlooking a lovely Japanese garden, an expansive private bathroom with tub and shower and views of 4 acres of woods. Japanese-style washitsu/meditation room open for guests.

7 min. drive to downtown Amherst, 10 min drive to UMass. Guests can swim in the pond nearby, walk the Robert Frost trail, bike to neighboring towns.

Boligen
This is a very special place, both inside and out. The beds all have memory foam mattresses, comfortable chairs. The property is backed by the Robert Frost Trail which leads to the beautiful Amethyst Brook Park less than a mile's walk, and next to a swimming pond maintained by the neighborhood association. Guests can swim in this pond, walk the trails, use my bike to explore bike trails to neighboring towns (Northampton, Easthampton). LIMITED kitchen use is possible. We provide coffee, tea, fruit, granola bars and tell you where to get a wonderful, full breakfast in town.

We keep a sustainable household, recycle and compost, and re-use everything we can. We are also committed to anti-racism and gender non-binary values.

Gæsteadgang
VERY LIGHT use of kitchen only, off limits during quiet hours; there's a microwave and small fridge exclusively for guests. Please recycle containers in bins under the sink and put food waste in the silver compost bin next to the sink. We normally use natural cleaning products but have made adjustments due to COVID-19.

Living room with cable TV and dining room/sun room are usually available to guests, but during COVID-19 access is specific and highly contained. Off-street parking in driveway.

Andre ting, der er værd at bemærke
We ask that you take shoes off and leave them by the main door entrance. :-)
* Please note: guidelines for kitchen and common area usage will be adjusted as needed to meet precautions and social distancing requirements for COVID-19.
This is a NO FRAGRANCE (perfume, cologne, etc.) house.

The neighborhood is surrounded by large, lovely trees. Amherst has wonderful small town charm, with favorite spots like the Black Sheep Cafe and Amherst Cinema. On the outskirts of town, the rolling hills and farms supply us with rural beauty and sustenance. We look forward to sharing our favorite places with you.

I'm a community artist, writer, educator, climate justice activist and love the outdoors. I was born in Taiwan, grew up in the Midwest near Chicago. As the director of a low-residency degree graduate arts program, I'm lucky to have a job I can do from home or wherever I travel. I’m working on a PhD in environmental humanities, studying the environmental impact of colonial occupation on environmental wellbeing. I have two incredible sons, one in college and the other living in Colorado. I share my home with creative eco- and social justice-minded folks. Hospitality and generosity are big in our household.
