A secluded shoreline sanctuary on a 12 +acre waterfront farm, a sense of peacefulness and privacy envelopes this tastefully designed and executed cedar cabin. In a forested setting, birdsong - and little else - is all that one hears, despite being only 4 minutes drive from the town of Ganges. With an entire wall of glass and a generous deck facing into a private bay that is only inches away, expect to feel deeply relaxed, even mesmerized, by the natural beauty that serenely surrounds you.

Boligen
Main floor is open plan - with small room (double bed) and separate bathroom adjacent to the non-sleeping area. Upstairs loft-like area has queen bed, closet and chest of drawers. Sheltered storage is available for bicycles and motorcyles in the nearby woodshed. Upon request, tools (including compressor) can be made available for basic repairs.

Her skal du være

Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Canada

Booth Inlet Farm enjoys approximately 1,500 feet of waterfront near the head of Booth Inlet (known locally as "Booth Canal"). Booth Inlet is only a few minutes from Ganges and is a protected tidal estuary with an abundance of bird life (including an occupied eagle’s nest on the adjoining property). Kayaks and other small boats can be launched by the bridge adjacent to the easterly corner of the farm property. Following Booth Canal Road to the west (joining Rainbow Road and then taking Collins Road to its terminus) leads to Bader’s Beach – a relatively seldom used beach with (relatively) warm swimming and tidal pools. More or less directly above the farm property (up a steep but well paved road - with good views to the north and east of the mountains on the Mainland) can be found the easterly end of the easier of the two trails to the summit of Mount Erskine, which provides breathtaking views to the south and west.

I have made my home on the Gulf Islands since 1970, and have resided on Salt Spring Island for more than 30 years. For the first quarter of my working life I worked mostly in agriculture and construction, and spent a lot of time working in remote logging and mining camps in BC and the Yukon. Since 1986, I have maintained a professional practice on Salt Spring Island. I live on the same property as the cabin in question, together with my wife and 10 year old daughter. We have a significant stake in our community, and want our guests to experience the most enjoyable stay possible; to this end, we have always striven for the highest possible standards of cleanliness, and to foster a genuine feeling of privacy and security. Although Salt Spring Island seems to have been mercifully spared from the harsher realities of the Covid 19 pandemic, in light of that threat we have changed our booking policies - in an effort to guarantee our guest's safety, too. When a new reservation is made, we "block off" the three days before and after the booking - so that each guest stay is suitably separated from the next. On top of thorough cleaning and sanitizing, this should provide an additional level of comfort and peace of mind. This safety measure greatly reduces our relative availability, particularly in the case of shorter stays; accordingly, we have recently instituted a 'three night minimum' booking policy. We hope you will understand, and look forward to the possibility of meeting you.

Under dit ophold

Your hosts, Ian and Amornrat, live with their 11 year old daughter, Malikaa, in the cottage at the head of the common driveway. Ian has made his home on the Gulf Islands since 1970, and has resided on the property since 1987. He is all-too-willing to share his observations - some of which might have actual utility. He also strives to be helpful in meeting reasonable requests. Amornrat is mostly to be found (or not) with her head down in the garden, quietly producing abundance.
