The house is ideally located in Garitsa Bay, historically one of the two main ports of the old city of Corfu. Today it's a picturesque bay dotted with yachts and fishing boats, with commanding views across the water of the city and the Old Fort. This quiet neighbourhood was one of the first suburbs of the town and it still retains a village feel with its family-run businesses, balconies, bougainvillea, and the smell of fresh laundry swaying in the wind. Walk for a few minutes and you can be at the waterfront to join the locals for a morning dip off the rocks in the serene blue sea. Within one minute of the house you can find grocers, mini market and bakeries to pick up fresh bread and other supplies. The waterfront itself is lined with tavernas, small bars and cafes where you can take your morning coffee or perhaps an evening drink as the sun goes down and you watch the city light up across the water.

It's a superb situation for romantic walks and low key living, and the pleasant stroll along the waterfront promenade takes you into the Old Town in just 15 minutes.

In the evening be sure to visit the nearby beauty spot Kanoni, where locals and tourists alike come to walk and watch the planes land against a backdrop of spectacular sunsets. Take a boat to Pontikonisi (Mouse Island) and admire the ethereal skies above the picture perfect Vlacherna Monastery - one of the most recognisable landmarks of the island. Culture fans will be happy to discover the nearby Early Christian Basilica of Palaiopolis.
