Waimea, Hawaii, USA

Clouds and mist move over and through our neighborhood, and the weather tends to alternate between periods of mist and drizzle to gentle sunshine. Our cooler mountain climate will give you the perfect respite from a day spent in the ever-sunny heat of the Kohala Coast.

The center of Waimea has stunning views in all directions, being nestled among some of the most ancient mountains on Big Island, including Mauna Kea. With a mixture of Old Hawaii and Paniolo culture, our community is truly a special little corner of the world. As an important ranch town and center for astronomical research, Waimea has excellent services, facilities and conveniences for a town of its size. Stay with us, and you’ll find out why our town is Big Island’s “best-kept secret”!

Waimea is uniquely and conveniently located less than an hour away from some of the most picturesque and historic sites the Island has to offer. Below is a list of nearby attractions and their travel times, according to Google Maps:

Waipio Valley - 27m
Spencer Beach - 29m

We are active in local volunteer work, and frequently visit family around the island. There is usually someone in the main house in the evening, but you will most likely be completely alone on the property during the day.
