I love Peamore House and the Peamore Estate - it is a semi- rural location set in a small parkland of ancient Oak Trees, Pheasants and Rabbits often with herds of Cows grazing right next to the house. Even though it is rural it is just about 10 minutes to central Exeter.
This stately home is now divided into three dwellings with No.1 being the largest and grandest dwelling - retaining the Ballroom and sweeping Cantilevered staircase.
The house has a 1000 years of history and dates back to Anglo Saxon times, is in the Doomsday Book had a revival in Tudor times where it was owned by the Duke of Suffolk ( Lady Jane Greys father) and subsequently was bought by Lord Kekewich in the 1700’s whose family remained right up until 1948.
The house was remodelled by Nash and Repton in the 1820’s.
