One day, i told my wife: " Lets start a homestay!”, we will have visitors, we will show them Vietnamese life style, share your home and they will bring joy and laughter to our house, it will be fun!
– Sound good!, but how can we do it? We can not even know an English word!My wife asked.
– We can learn (Not very quick since we are already almost 60 year old) but I believe we can try…
My wife did not be convinced at first, but finally she agreed and we started our little homestay.

OUR STORIES:
My name is Long - I am a fisherman and the only carpenter on Cham islands.
I am original from Hoi An and moved to the island 30 years ago. Here I meet my lovely wife Hai, she is a real islander. We fell in love on the first sight and I decided to settle and make Bai Huong become my home. We got married and build a small house at the beachfront.
Within the years we raised 5 children. 2 already married, and the other 3 boys are now Hoi An to working and study. So the small house became a little empty. My wife missed our children a lot, so one day few years ago I told her:

We speak very basic English only, but so far haven’t got any big problem in communication with our guests. Most of the times we have to use hands and feet to explain our selves but this makes the experience even more unique. And if we have some communication issues we can always call our son who can help with translation.
The house is back to life and we are delighted to have many happy guests visiting and sharing our home with us.
Welcome to Hai – Long homestay !

HOW TO GO TO OUR HOMESTAY FROM HOI AN.
There are two ways to go to Cham Island, or by public ferry or by speedboat.
The daily ferry leaves from Hoi An old town on An Hoi, from the first tiny lane just after the Silk Marina Resort, 74, Đ 18 Thang 8 (Nguyen Phuc Tan)” – at 7.00 am – 7:30 am or from Cua Dai habour (tourist area) at 8.00 AM – 8:30 AM and the tourist price is is between around 150’000 per person/way plus the entrance fee 70.000 VND. If you prefer to go by speedboat you can arrange it through a tour operator in Hoi An. All boats arrive in Bai Lang.
From Bai Lang you can ask a motobike pick up to Bai Huong, the cost is about 50,000VND – 70’000 VND per driver or the small local ferry for VND 30’000, just ask for the boat to Bai Huong. However we will be pleased to PICK YOU UP in Bai Lang to make it easier for you to find the small ferry and all together you will go by ferry to Bai Huong. There is no extra charge for the pick up, but you have to pay for your ferry ticket. (Please confirm if you need pick up)
To go back to the mainland from Cham island you can take at about 10.30am the small ferry to Bai Lang (VND 30’000 per person) and then wait for the big ferry which leaves at about 11.30am and arrives in Hoi An at about 1.30-2.00pm in the old town
