HorseWorks Wyoming's rustic cabins are located between Meeteetse (23 miles) & Thermopolis (36 miles) off Hwy 171 near the former town of Grass Creek. Cabins accommodate two to four people each with twin beds or bunk beds, heat & electricity in an idyllic, working ranch setting, a perfect stopover if passing through on your way to Yellowstone. Bathrooms located in the Lodge, with a traditional compost toilet in cabin area. Due to remoteness, plan to arrive before dark. See "COVID House Rules".

Boligen
HorseWorks is a remote, working horse and cattle ranch off a gravel road. The simple, cozy cabins have beds, an area rug, electricity and heat, no running water. Bathrooms/showers in the Lodge a short walk away.

Gæsteadgang
Guests may access the cabins & the Lodge bathrooms (running water, showers, toilets). Due to the need to keep guest areas "COVID Clean", NOT accessible is the spacious open-area of the Lodge (kitchen, dining area, sitting area with wood burning stove, & laundry). Please message with questions about access & amenities during COVID. Guests are not allowed in the corrals or around the livestock. Horseback riding & meals are not available.

Andre ting, der er værd at bemærke
This rustic, no-frills, working ranch is located 23 - 36 miles from the nearest towns on a well-maintained gravel road that is difficult to find in the dark, so plan your daytime arrival accordingly. We are appropriate for a 1-2 night stay when passing through on the way to or from Yellowstone, or for nearby sightseeing, but not as a base to see a wider geographic area. The facility is off-grid , meaning that we have solar powered electricity with no electric or phone lines running into the ranch. Limited WIFI and cell phone service are available at the Lodge only. No streaming or TV.

Beliggenhed

Thermopolis, Wyoming, USA

The remoteness of the ranch makes it uniquely peaceful, with clear, star-fill night skies. Watch for cattle, calves, horses and wildlife on the roads as you drive into the ranch headquarters.

Having grown up in Kentucky, I traveled to Wyoming in 1994 for a summer job as a ranch cook and within two years, moved here permanently and pursued ranching and horse training with my late husband, Nate, who was posthumously inducted into the Wyoming Cowboy Hall of Fame in 2017. We developed the Guest Ranch Program where people from all over the world learn about the Western lifestyle and horsemanship.
