Vintage home in the Millwork District, with private entrance, bedroom, bathroom, living room, kitchen and dining room. You would enjoy the large lower flat of the 2 story home. Wi-fi, SMART TV, security system and Netflix included. Sheets, towels, shampoo, coffee/tea and water. Owner can assist oriention to the remodeled home, which was built in 1890 by the Langworthy family. The home is conveniently in the active Historic Millwork District and a train goes by occasionally.

This is the entire flat with entirely private space, in a restored home, offering a large living room, a dining room, modern kitchen with island seating and table seating and bathroom, laundry and bedroom with queen mattress and adjustable bed. Bedding, towels, soap, shampoos/conditioner are included, along with many amenities. Off-street parking is free and adjacent to the house. There are fire alarms and a CO2 monitor. I’m a nurse, so safety first! There are many doors in this 130 year-old revitalized home and no one enters any of them while guests are there. Locks are on all doors but if you are nervous about staying at a private home, there’s a new Marriott hotel right across the street. The Marriott is dog friendly and has grass and many walk their dogs around the neighborhood. My yard is open with a paver parking areas, where you can park near the private entrance.

Her skal du være

Dubuque, Iowa, USA

The home is adjacent to the newly revitalized and exciting Historic Millwork District. There are many wedding and events in this part of town and it’s easy to walk to many places in downtown Dubuque. It is a short car drive or about a nice and flat walk to the beautiful Mississippi, “American River Walk”, the National Smithsonian Mississippi Museum, Casinos and other entertainment and event centers. There's the award winning Brazen Open Kitchen, Back Pocket Brew Pub, Jubeck's, L. May, Charlotte’s Coffee Shop for breakfast or lunch, Inspire Cafe and many other wonderful places to eat, drink and be merry, within walking distance.
Mural art is a great contributor to the fun, artistry and friendliness of Dubuque and worth time exploring. A beautiful tribute mural was painted of Notorious RBG on my home. Ruth Bader Ginsburg is the second female superior court justice, who’s recently died. She’s stunningly portrayed by renowned mural artist, Luis Valle from Miami Beach, Florida.

I'm originally from Dubuque and have lived in San Francisco, California for many years. I moved back to beautiful and charming, Dubuque, Iowa and bought and rehabbed this lovely old home which was built in 1890. Dubuque is called, The Masterpiece on the Mississippi” and is the oldest city in Iowa. There's rich history to enjoy with a variety of things to do and see in the “Driftless” area, where the glaciers didn’t flatten, so it’s hilly and scenic. I've traveled to many countries, had different types of healthcare careers as a Registered Nurse. I enjoy learning about other people and cultures. I think our planet needs more love, peace and happiness and I'd hope you'd find it in my home and in Dubuque. I enjoy music and there is a ton of that around here, including at The Smokestack, Moonbar, and Codfish Hollow, which is is a bit like heaven. The Historic Millwork District is adjacent to the home, with great places to dine and to sip on microbrews at different pubs. The City leaders have done a stellar job revitalizing Dubuque. I'm happy to see people enjoying what this area has to offer, including boating in summers and skiing in the winters. There’s a vibrant art and music community here, with a magazine called 365 that lists many offerings and events that are in the area. “Is this Iowa or is this heave?” That quote came from the movie, “The Field of Dreams,” movie location is in nearby Dyersville, IA. Enjoy your journey and wherever life takes you, I hope you find a bit of heaven on earth.
