On high tides you can fall asleep to the sound of the sea lapping at the wall of the master bedroom ! Little Valletort, opposite the iconic clock tower on the pedestrian friendly Market Street is a delightful compact ground floor two-bedroom apartment, located right next to Girt Beach (10m from the door and dog friendly). There are some great places to eat and handy shops near by selling beachwear, pasties and ice creams and the local village shop offers freshly baked croissants each morning.

Changes to holiday stay due to Covid-19 at Little Valletort 2020
Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, we have had to make some changes with regard to how guests can stay in Little Valletort this year. All these changes and requests are to safeguard you ‘the guests’, any other guests checking in after your stay, as well as Jenny, the cleaner, who will be carrying out a deep clean in between stays.
Check-in may not be possible until 7pm, however, you can contact Jenny on 07714672598 in the afternoon to find out when the apartment will be ready on the day. As you can imagine, this is all new to everyone and we will try our very best to have it ready as early as possible, but our duty of care to all is paramount.
Unfortunately, we need to ask guests to bring all their own towels (including beach, shower, hand and tea towels) and bedding (pillows, sheets and duvets); the mattresses will be covered with mattress protectors, which will have been disinfected between stays. We are unfortunately unable to offer a discount as a result of this request, due to our increased costs relating to extra time, materials and other measures required in mitigating the Covid-19 risk. There is a washer-dryer available for your use during your stay.
The apartment will only have the bare essentials available (i.e. no board games, books, condiments, etc.) in order to reduce the items that will need to be deep cleaned in between stays.
There will be antiviral cleaner (BSEN14476) with spray bottles on site for you to clean as you go along and plenty of soap for hand washing.
There will be 4 plates, cups, mugs, a set of cutlery, cooking utensils, etc., which will need to be washed and dried and placed in the container provided and left in the kitchen (apologies no dishwasher!). The cleaner can then quarantine this container and replace it with the previous week’s quarantined one.
Obviously if you or any guests or visitors show any symptoms of Covid-19, please inform me and make arrangements to return to your home immediately, as we will have to take mitigating actions including the need to quarantine the property for 72 hours prior to anyone next entering. In this situation, we will offer a partial refund related to the remaining missed period of your stay. Please also be aware that, in the unfortunate event this has occurred just prior to your stay, we may need to contact you and require you to delay your arrival by a few days (a similar partial refund policy will apply) or if you decide to cancel due to the delayed check in we will refund in full. This will, however, be in a worst-case scenario only and we will do everything we can to avoid this happening.
All rubbish/waste needs to be taken away during or by the end of the stay (this was already a pre-Covid requirement for the apartment). Please see the info pack attached (recommendations are to try and dispose of waste throughout the week to avoid trying to fit it into your already full car at the end!).
On the morning of check-out, guests will be required to open all the windows to allow as much fresh air to pass through the apartment as possible prior to the cleaner(s) going in. However, please only crack them open if heavy rain is forecast.




We really want your stay to be as relaxing and enjoyable as possible and, with this in mind, we would urge you do as much preparation and pre-planning as possible, so that you can get the most out of your week, including doing the following:
Pre-book restaurants (essential, as they are likely to be operating ‘sittings’ with reduced numbers)
Pre-order supermarket deliveries
The village will be busy and there may be long queues. Please do support the local economy, but think about anything it might be easier for you to bring from home this year.
Please be particularly aware of the local community and locals’ very real concerns about the increased risks due to an influx of holiday makers and, of course, please maintain social distancing in accordance with government guidance.
We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused by the ‘extra’ but necessary measures above, which will inevitably have an impact on your stay this year. We understand that you may feel these changes detract too much from enjoying your holiday in Little Valletort and, if this is the case, please let us know and we will cancel your booking and refund any deposit paid in full.

Parking available upon request and for an additional charge (£30/week) but only with prior booking , then you can secure the use of the hard standing/parking area directly outside the flat for storing boats/kayaks/paddle-boards/parking a car.
Dogs can stay if pre arranged (extra £20 /week /dog) that will be collected separately after booking.
Saturday check in only- unless pre-arranged , please contact me to ask.
Mobile phone reception is poor in the flat but good just outside by the bench overlooking the beach.
Heating, electricity and linen are included in the rental. A limited number of towels are provided, please bring beach towels with you.
The master bed is Kingsize with a tempur mattress, the bunk beds are full size.
Little Valletort is available from 7 pm on the first day of your holiday and you will need to leave by 10:00 am on your departure day.

Dogs can stay if pre arranged and there is an extra £20 /week /dog charge that will be collected through AirBNB separately after booking.
Most locals walk their dogs up devonport hill in the village and then head towards Mount Edgcumbe Country Park on the Minnadoo
Girt and Kingsand Beach, is dog friendly and is a mixture of sand and shingle .
Cawsand Beach is mainly sand, this beach is dog friendly between 1st October and Easter Day.
Whitsand Bay, beautiful sandy beach can be accessed via a number of cliff paths, notably very steep in places
Freathy Beach is ideal, family and dog friendly, parking and only a short walk to the beach.
Portwrinkle Beach a short drive away, a lovely small beach with pebbles and a super cafe called The Gook
Most local pubs will accept well behaved dogs
It is a Non-Smoking property.

Kingsand and Cawsand have no commercial waste areas, so please remove and take all rubbish with you on your departure from Little Valletort.
We do not provide any feeding bowls for dogs, you will need to supply your own.

You can unload your car by the Clock Tower opposite Little Valletort, but there is no parking available outside the property unless previously agreed. Kingsand and Cawsand was built in an era before cars and parking is restricted to the two pay car parks or roads where indicated.

We ask you to keep the property clean and in good order and you will be responsible for any damages/breakages.
The total number in your party must not exceed the capacity of the property as advertised. You may not sub-let the property.

There are lovely coastal walks in both directions, the one to Rame Head is particularly special. The beach adjacent to the flat is protected from the prevailing winds and has rock pools , pebbles and sandy areas when the tide is low; Whitsand Bay is five or so minutes by car for miles of wide sandy beaches and good surfing.

Pace of life is relaxed, there are plenty of traditional Cornish fishing villages, tiny alley ways and lanes to explore along the Cornish coastline. From Looe to Polperro and Falmouth. At Cremyll you can visit Mount Edgcumbe Country Park.

Whether its rock pooling from beach to beach , walking some of the beautiful South West Coast Path to Rame Head or enjoying a meal at one of the many pubs/restaurants/cafes, there is something for everyone!
