Boligen
500 square foot basement apartment with separate entrance, private kitchen, private bathroom, and large open living area. There is a queen bed, a sofa, a wardrobe, kitchen table, armchair, TV with PS3 (with Netflix and Hulu). Ideal for couples or solo travelers. Guests also have access to a large, secluded back yard with covered deck, patio, hammock, gas grill, and gardens.

This property is a perfect basecamp for visitors hoping to take in the grandeur of outdoor activities in Southwest Washington and Northwest Oregon, as well as for visitors looking to explore our expansive local craft brewing culture. The area’s natural beauty exemplifies the majesty of the Pacific Northwest: Mt. St. Helens National Volcanic Monument, Gifford-Pinchot National Forest, The Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail, The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, Mt. Hood, and Mt. Hood National Forest. The area also boasts well over 100 craft breweries, many cideries, over 50 coffee roasters, and one of the premiere restaurant and food cart scenes in the country. Guests have free off-street parking.

There is a separate entrance with keypad lock to the basement stairs off of the covered deck (directly next to the entrance to the main floor) and a keyed door to the apartment. There is a queen size bed. There is also a deep, firm sofa that is great for lounging and napping. The kitchen has a refrigerator, oven/range, microwave, kettle, French press and pour-over coffee makers, and a toaster.

Guests may use the large, secluded back yard with covered deck, cafe table, chairs, patio, hammock, gas grill, and gardens.

Please respect the unfinished part of the basement, which the host uses for laundry, storage, utilities, and the home brewery.

1. Hiking: Hundreds of trails in national forests and monuments, including The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, Mt. St. Helens National Volcanic Monument, Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Beacon Rock State Park, Silver Star Mountain, The Lewis River and Siouxon Creek areas, the Wind River area, Trapper Creek Wilderness, Indian Heaven Wilderness, the Pacific Crest Trail, Dog Mountain, Coyote Wall, and the White Salmon River area.

2. Breweries: about 40 breweries on Washington side of the Columbia from Vancouver to White Salmon, with the majority of them close by in Vancouver, Camas, and Washougal. Highlights include Loowit, Brothers Cascadia, Trap Door, 54-40, Backwoods, Everybody's and Grains of Wrath.

Portland and Northwest Oregon:

1. Hiking and skiing: The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area (though some areas on the Oregon side remain closed due to the 2017 Eagle Creek Wildfire), Mt Hood and the Mt Hood National Forest, the Salmon River area, Zigzag Mountain area, Ramona Falls, Lolo Pass, Barlow Pass, Lookout Mountain, Badger Creek Wilderness, Clackamas River area, Roaring River Wilderness, and Portland’s Forest Park (the largest urban forest in the country).

2. Breweries: they call Portland Beervana, with over 60 breweries on the Oregon side of the Portland metro area. Highlights include Breakside, Upright, Wayfinder, Great Notion, Baerlic, Gigantic, Zoiglhaus, Ex Novo, and Level. Don't miss Pfriem, Ferment, Double Mountain, or Thunder Island in the Gorge, or Wolves & People down in Newberg.

We are located in Vancouver’s Northwest neighborhood, just a few minutes’ drive from the many dining and drinking options in Uptown Village and Downtown Vancouver. We are a short walk from Franklin Park and the Burnt Bridge Creek Greenway, with its 8.5 miles of biking and walking paths. Just to the west of us is Vancouver Lake and Frenchman's Bar Regional Parks. We are 15-20 minutes by car to most of Portland; 30 minutes to the Columbia River Gorge; 40 minutes to the Willamette Valley wine country; 70 minutes to Mt. St. Helens; 75 minutes to kite surfing in Hood River; 95 minutes to Timberline Lodge and skiing on Mt. Hood; and 100 minutes to Astoria and the Pacific Ocean.
