A beautiful get-away surrounded by nature! One-bedroom + loft cabin, full kitchen, bathroom, w/d, sunny lanai, on our Big Island off-grid permaculture farm. Cabin is nestled in a food forest a few hundred feet from a stunning waterfall with swimming hole in a peaceful bamboo grove. One king-size bed in bedroom, two twin beds in loft, which has a low ceiling and is accessed by steep, narrow stairs. Enjoy organic eggs & free entrance to botanical garden! Ask @ massage by waterfall & stream.

Boligen
Our goal at Kulike Farm is to create an environment where people live lightly on the land, nestled among the food and medicine they need for sustenance. We strive towards energy and food independence with a great variety and abundance of edible tropical foods.

Gæsteadgang
Guests have access to walking down to the waterfall and several loops through mixed tropical fruit planting and short trails into the food forest. Guests can choose other activities including taking a general farm tour, a tour focusing on making tree-to-bar chocolate, or an activity of pressing sugar cane and making amazing fresh lemonade!

Andre ting, der er værd at bemærke
* Our pricing is set so the base price is for two guests; additional guests are $10 each per night (children under 2 are free).
* We provide many items to make your stay comfortable, from organic coffee and a French press to a pak-n-play. We will send a list of all Hale (aka home) amenities so you know exactly what you'll need.
* All cleaning products are nontoxic.
* We are on the rainy side - on purpose - water is vital! But do be prepared for rain during some portion of your stay.
* There is a 2-mile, winding, narrow drive up a paved road to find us.
* The 14.41% Hawaii State Transient Accommodation tax is included in our total price. (Other listings may add this price on top of the per-night fee, and collect it separately.) Our airbnb cabin is permitted and completely legal within the new Hawaii regulations.

Beliggenhed

Hakalau, Hawaii, USA

We live up mauka - towards the mountain - in a lush, green rural area between the Umauma and Hakalau Rivers. At the base of our hill is Botanical World Adventures, which has beautiful gardens and a fun zipline. Every Tuesday the nearby farmers have a delightful farmer's market in the gardens, complete with ready-to-eat food and music. Umauma Zip Line is also at the base of our hill, just to the north. We have views of both the ocean and Mauna Kea. Soft trade breezes grace us by day, and a cooler breeze blows down off the mountain in the evening. The night sky is alive with stars. Two beach parks are nearby, Hakalau and Kole Kole, fun to explore on foot but currently closed to cars. Honomu, the closest town with services (small convenience stores, cafes, gift shops and boutiques), is around 5 miles south, and here you can also visit the stunning Akaka Falls, and go on a short hike. The Papa'aloa Country Store and Cafe are 15 minutes to the north, just before Laupahoehoe, which is where you will find the closest gas station, another convenience store, an outdoor pool, small library, and beautiful beach park at Laupahoehoe Point. Hilo, which is 25 minutes south, has great restaurants, black sand beaches, museums, the University, a vibrant farmer's market, and much more.
