  • This is Dolly, the self-appointed welcoming committee.  Also shows steps down to the dock and lake.  Dolly has a doggy door, so if you are afraid of dogs, let me know so i can shut it during your visit.
  • Your fishable, swimmable lake.  Please bring your own towels for yourself and your dog, if you are bringing one, for use after swimming.
  • Smoking allowed at one of two outdoor fireplaces.  No other smoking areas are possible of ANY material.  Our home is IN a woods with narrow gravel lane, secluded and so smoking (and not leaving fire-pit until cool to the touch) is a must.
  • Your unit takes up 24' x 24' space atop  garage.  Private entrance on opposite side from shown. Left window into bathroom, center into dining area, and right picture window overlooks private gravel lane and trees.  No houses opposite.
  • Walking into bathroom.  I provide six towels, linens and tea towels.  If you bring dogs, please bring a throw to cover furniture and towels for wet doggies.
  • Rain fall and hand held in the 5 foot long shower w/footrest &  sundry storage.
  • Bathroom vanity, window with peekaboo view of lake seen in mirror.  Clean towels are stored inside this unit.  Please put your used towels in the laundry basket provided when you go, also add your sheets after you strip the bed.
  • View from bathroom, overlooking parking area and neighbor's garage.  No house looks into unit from any direction. View of lake in winter when trees are bare.  Please use this area for parking your car as you see there is a light here.
  • Bed from living room area showing storage.  There is no reason to use the vaccum (shown here) or "clean" before you go, just strip bed, putting sheets in laundry, wash dishes and take out the trash.
  • Storage in the entertainment center: games and puzzles will be in here; HDTV above.
  • Step stool, vacuum, extra leaves for table in dining area and table pads stored next to bed.  Please use table pads and a towel if you decide to iron.  No need to use the vacuum, our professional team will clean after you leave.
  • View looking towards front of the house.    Main County Road is on the other side of all the trees, you cannot hear or see it, not even in winter when trees are bare.
  •  Please note microwave and refrigerator are small.  Adequate for heating up left overs, doing crockpot meal, or you are free to use my Big Green Egg outdoors.  Unit is not intended for a lot of cooking.  Hence, no stove or cook top or vents.
  • Our medium Big Green Egg can roast 12 lb turkey, smoke ribs, cook casserole and cakes...but it is tricky to use.  We urge you to go on line to watch videos, get recipes ahead of time.  We have tools, books, and wood for your fist adventure.
  • Our guests are enjoying the upper level outdoor fireplace, making s'mores and singing.  Second fire pit on dock.  Wood provided.  Do not leave fires unattended and do not leave until cool to the touch.
  • You will have bottled water, k-pods, toilet paper and paper towels enough to get you through your first morning.  If you are here for an extended visit, you will provide your own and replenish please.
  • glasses and a few things to hold snacks, etc.

  • Books include Delaware History and a few guide books...plus a variety of history books. Games are below. Treasure trove of "what to do" and "where to eat" near this area.

  • When you enter the property, you will see entry to your unit first.    After off loading your car, please pull it forward to one of three spaces in front of the main house.  Please do not block our entry to the garage.
  • Check in here, as you will be instructed once you have made your payments.  Entry to your unit is on the other side of the  garage (to the right in this photo).
  • Path leading from parking area around our home and down to the lake.  (you can also go around the other side of the house from your unit).
  • Ring this doorbell to check in unless other arrangements have been made.  Note Dolly at the front door, she is friendly, just squat down clap hands and call her by name should you encounter her the first time out back.
  • Kitchenette and dining/worktop area.  Emphasis on the "ette" part of Kitchen.  This is not for preparing big meals...we want everyone to relax while they are here, even the cook!
  • Pink chair is comfy recliner.  Flatscreen HDTV w/ premium channels hanging between shelf units.   Flashlight on floor behind door.  Sofa large enough to lie on, but do not sleep on it.  Cot available for $10 should the one double bed not be adequate.
  • Double bed with a quilt my mom made.  View of bed from bathroom. Photos show the lake in various seasons.  Cot available for one time fee of $10 if this bed is not adequate.  Please do not sleep on sofa, it is not sanitary for guests who follow.
  • Have some fun playing games.  Puzzles, too, and a basket full of things to do and see in Delaware.  Feel free to leave brochures of places you visited and enjoyed.
  • You have coffee, creamers, sugar, teas sugar to get you through your first morning.  Use bottled water for best taste.  Replace what you use if you are staying more than an overnight. Drip coffee maker in the cabinet, some filters, BYO ground coffee.

  • Induction burner and hot pot included, but not intended for you to "cook, cook" while you are here.  Outdoor Big Green Egg yours to use, as well.
  • Book with directions to local eateries and shops, information on all electronics, heating system etc   Your key, affixed to a flashlight--it's DARK here.   Also a basket full of fun local attractions and some menus.  Take time to review upon arrival.
  • Surge Protected Charging Station easily accessible...you provide the cord. We used to provide, but they kept walking.  Please BYO.  (or ask to borrow and return with the key.)  Also laptop computer w/power strip in desk of unit.

  • One of our guests took this picture about 25 minutes from our home.  this is winter...during "beach season" the driving time is doubled.
  • One of our guests trying out the  stand up paddle board mid June 2018.  Note swimming pool stairs to the lake.   Yucky to wade in unless you are a dog.  Lake is six feet deep where paddler is.
  • He is going a great job!  the fin of the paddle board goes in the front, not the back as you might imagine.  You can also sit on it, paddle like a canoe with the smaller paddles provided.
