The SoDō District is an area of downtown Bowling Green comprised of multiple buildings, both old and new. Several of the older buildings hold historical significance to the area. Armory Lofts, the newest member of SoDō was not only the first true loft spaces available as residences in Bowling Green—but they were also constructed in the Drill Hall section of the old Bowling Green Armory, which has been designated a local landmark. Characterized by modern industrial styled spaces and panoramic views of local landmarks, the loft units and public areas prominently feature the building’s rugged architectural support structure. There is no substitute for materials which have aged the better part of a century. The patina of the old Drill Hall’s architectural elements such as exposed masonry, concrete, wooden flooring, steel beams, and girded rafters create visual interest as well as a warm, hip, urban environment.
*SoDō District will have 40,000 sq.ft.(+/-) of commercial and multi-purpose space, along with a community park, green space areas, bike friendly paths, and community courtyards.
