Travel nursing for 13-26 weeks in Arizona? Come stay with other nurses! I've had this house since 2013, in a clean and quiet Tempe AZ suburb, away from the noisy Arizona State University areas. This is the Celtic room (the others are Greco-Roman and Mesoamerican themes). No cats, daily video gamers, or druggies. I verify medical licenses when I check backgrounds, so you're not staying with weirdos.

$1,100/month (message me with your contract details/dates and I'll send you a special offer).

I recently moved to South Dakota for a new job (May 2021) so I will be on Airbnb and able to text/call still, but Daleana will be in-person for moving you in and out, and cleaning common areas. I've done a lot of renovations and upgrades since buying the house in 2013, and my goal is to host nurses who can be less worried about being on strict leases. I offer month-to-month here on Airbnb with no hidden fees, so it should be much less stressful not to have to get a power bill account, sign-up for internet, pay for gas, buy furniture and appliances, and sign 6-12 month leases. I've been hosting for several years and have had a few roommates come back for multiple contracts with me. If you're low-stress, no drama, enjoy being fit/healthy, want to live with 1-3 other medical professionals who are also saving a ton of money, and want to share 2 bathrooms and 2,000 square feet of an old-school Tempe house with a backyard/patio and home gym, shoot me a message here and we'll see if we will be a good fit together!

I used to live in the home and be the fixer for whatever problems infrequently arise, but since I moved to South Dakota I would like to rent to 4 nurses total (2 on each side of the split floorplan, with only 2 people sharing a bathroom/shower). I have spent a lot of money on dog-friendly flooring that is easy to sweep/swiffer clean, there are 2 fridges for lots of space, a wine cooler, a beer fridge, separate pantries and kitchen shelves labeled for each roommate, new acrylic super awesome showers (no bathtubs anymore, thankfully) from Jul2020, a whiteboard to track everyone's sleep/work schedule, mail slots for each person, a barbecue grill and nice covered back patio with a new couch from 2020, a big garden if you want to grow veggies, iron security doors and gates, metal security screens on all windows, new dual-pane windows with a massive picture window in the entry/TV room, an 80" TV with Bose surround sound and a Fire Stick, and my most recent upgrade in 2021: a full squat rack/pullup bar with bumper plates and home gym setup placed right under the air conditioning vent :)

Whether you're staying 1 or 6 months, I want to make this Travel-Nurse-friendly Airbnb shared house as ideal as possible. I'm an Arizona native that has traveled significantly and am very picky about Airbnb amenities (please always feel free to message me with ideas/upgrades/requests). This is a traditional block home with 5 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, 2,085 square feet, split floor plan (ideal for night shift on one side of the house), kitchen and bar in-between the two sides of the house, with the typical Arizona high block walls in the backyard for privacy. Though built in 1969, I've spent a ton of money making it super comfy to live-in, and I lived here with my tenants from Jan2018 to May2021. I've had up to 6 humans and 3 dogs at one time, to host as many people as needed lodging during these weird times, but the most ideal situation I've found is 2 people on both sides of the house. I'd love if everyone was on the same shift, day or night, but that obviously rarely happens with nursing contracts. My girlfriend Taylor co-hosts, and she's an ER/ICU nurse, so we have tried to make the setup best for quietness. Please don't request to stay here if you're the type of person who grinds coffee beans right when you need them at 5am, when you know 2 other people are sleeping. I value roommates who pre-plan laundry and other tasks when everyone is awake, rather than the rare but annoying type of selfish person who is only thinking of what they need right now, rather than having some conscientiousness and mindfulness.

Close the blackout curtains for a movie theater experience in the front/movie room. Kitchen has a Keurig and french press. There's a wall-sized map on the way to the covered back patio, with pushpins to mark where you hail from. Feel free to borrow a book from my big library and read in the backyard hammock if the weather's nice, or have some drinks around the propane fire pit/table. WiFi has been great unless you're in a very far corner of the house or outside too far. Nearby are Trader Joe's/Sprouts/Whole Foods/Fry's (Kroger).

Extra sheets, pillows, toiletries, etc. are all available. Your room has your own lock/key for privacy. Note that the house has 3 custom-made iron entry doors that are locked at night, burglar-proof security screens on all new dual-pane windows, and motion-sensor lights for your safety and comfort (but rest easy! This house has not had any crime issues since I bought it many years ago).

The vision for the place was a minimalist, functional, modern place for fellow travelers to stay. We like our house to look clean, with everything serving a purpose. Please turn off lights when done, don't use power unnecessarily during expensive 4pm-7pm hours (our energy company SRP charges double), keep the doors locked and the security window screens closed, and be respectful to my other tentants please :)

If you just got a contract and haven't had time to buy furniture or look for apartments in the area, this place will get you started! Notice that we don't add any cleaning fees, and we have the most flexible cancellation policy that Airbnb offers for Long-Term stays. We don't like those surprises when we travel, either. You might find a place cheaper than this room, but we think the price is worthwhile for having a large, furnished house with fellow medical/traveling people. Also, I'm super flexible as a host: no contract, leave any day you want after the first month, and I'll pro-rate as much as Airbnb allows to refund. I have somewhat new/modern LG washer and dryer units, there is lots of safe street/driveway parking for your car under the streetlight, 2-car garage and shaded outdoor parking is seniority-based for whoever moved-in first. Tempe Police Department is highly regarded, as well as the Fire Department just south of the house. I used to provide everything from toilet paper to k-cups, but I have changed the Airbnb setup to calculate for increased expenses and not being present on the property anymore. If you have any questions about what's included, message me!

You'll love the old-school block house neighborhood from the late 1960s, with some original owners still living on our street. It's a non-HOA area that still stays super clean and quiet. The neighborhood's park (Rotary Park/Cole Park) to the south is in the suburb, for dog-walking and whatnot (6am-midnight). Our neighbors even give us citrus most of the year, since they have so much fruit. If you're into gardening like me, ask and you can use an empty space to let you grow whatever you want. The garden is half of the backyard, next to the doggy run/poop turf for the current roommate's dog.

Started Oct2018 hosting Travel Nurses in Arizona with the help of my girlfriend Taylor. I've used Airbnb to travel since 2013, and I have 6+ positive reviews as a host here, 58+ positive reviews as a traveler, and 1 negative review from a man in Guatemala that I never met :) I became a Superhost in Jan2020 and am looking for some land to the north of me to start a 2nd Airbnb someday. I promise to always follow the Golden Rule, and if I can make my house more comfortable for you and future travelers, I'm always interested in suggestions. For me, Airbnb is more like having 1-3 temporary roommates helping me with my mortgage, than as a formal business to run. Español también!

I changed this to "not available in-person" because I'm likely going to be living in South Dakota during Summer 2021. This paragraph usually reads:

Amount of interaction is up to you! We are busy with school, work, house projects, traveling, etc., but if you want to grab some beers at one of the many local microbreweries, or go hiking on South Mountain, we're probably down. We are avid travelers and love to chat about cities/food/history/language.
