There's an excellent bakery at the end of the street, and the house is a short walk away from live music and theater the Shea Theater, bus stops, the Connecticut River, the bike trail, boating, world-class concrete skate park, shopping, great restaurants and night life, grocery store, banks, as well as being only half an hour away from the cultural centers of Northampton, Amherst, and Brattleboro, as well as scenic ares along the Mohawk Trail. Ten minutes from downtown Greenfield.

Boligen
If you love a funky, creative and eclectic bohemian environment, you will love it here! My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and bohemians of all ages. You'll have the privacy you need. The bedroom I am offering is called the Vintage Bower and features old records and memorabilia of that nature. If you need tips on the arts and music life in the Valley I have info for you.
I prefer to meet guests before extending a booking longer than a week. If you have extenuating circumstances needing longer than one week, please contact me to explain your situation and we may be able to work out a special offer for your stay.

Gæsteadgang
Guests have the use of the common areas of kitchen and living/dining rooms, porch and deck and yard. Laundry is in the basement, if needed. Socialize as much or as little as you like.

Andre ting, der er værd at bemærke
Artists, writers, musicians and other creatives will find this a very compatible and inspiring place to be. My house is an amazing amalgam of art and oddities.
We do have a cat, Rusty, who is extremely friendly, but has defective frail hips. We will not be able to accommodate other pets.
If you are a heavy drinker, this is not the right place for you.

The Central Street neighborhood is very diverse. It is one block up on the Hill above the downtown. There are triple decker apartment buildings, single family homes of varying vintage from the 1870s to the 1930s, and a headstart preschool in an old school building. In this neighborhood are published authors and poets, experimental musicians, single mothers and children, business people, people with disabilities in group housing, artists, bikers, and all types of people. Generally this is a quiet street and people are friendly. It is very convenient to all of the town.

I am an artist, writer, and musician living in my dream house in the village of Turners Falls. I love converting spaces into imaginative settings for others to interact within, and one of my biggest accomplishments has been converting a disused alleyway shed into the little gallery and store downtown that I call Nina's Nook. My house is an extension of this drive to create places, and offers me plenty of wall space to fill with creations that I keep working on, such as the baby grand piano lid coffee table, the nail biter lamp, the giant lottery ticket construction "Broke in a Flash" that lights up the dining room...When not tinkering on creations in my attic studio or constructing something int he basement workshop, I am editing, writing articles, taking photographs or drawing cartoons for our community newspaper, The Montague Reporter. I love knowing what's going on, and helping connect others with information or services or networking opportunities, and I love where I live, faults and all. I've had many diverse jobs throughout my life: my first job was running the winch at the fish pier in Provincetown, but I have worked in a shoe factory and state highway department, managed an autoparts store in a worker's cooperative, been production manager and M.O.M. at a manufacturer of custom built aluminum wheelchairs for pets, run a box lunch catering business out of my kitchen for private schools, written weekly arts reviews and worked in a print shop and composing room of a newspaper...among other things. I raised two boys here in Turners while completing my education as an Ada Comstock scholar at Smith. There, I felling love with the history of science and wrote some prize-winning poetry. I've recently returned to the craft of writing and found a small community of women to make art and poetry with,--we call ourselves The Exploders. Speaking of small groups, my late in life passion has been to learn to play the bass guitar. I became obsessed with the instrument in February of 2013 and haven't stopped practicing since, and perform as often as possible with the nascent group She Said. I love the blues, Motown hits, classic rock-n-roll, folk and some country stuff. Turners hasn't always been a desirable pace to be, and still has some urban problems which give it a gritty character that some of us prefer to the smoothed over versions of city life found elsewhere in the "happy valley." One of the great things about living here is that we have such rural beauty all around us, like the river, the bike path, and farmlands, while having the cultural benefits of city life like a Theater, music venues, galleries, and nearby events at the colleges. At any rate, I am curious and interested in meeting other people and look forward to making my guests feel right at home in Turners Falls. When I travel, I like to go to Montreal and Chicago and New York, and stay at Airbnb's.

I am an artist and writer and I have a small gallery in Turners Falls called Nina's Nook. When home, I spend a lot of time in my third floor studio space or working quietly on the computer. For those who are interested in the area, I can fill you in on some local history.
