Ashlea is a self-contained annex to the owners’ home with its own private entrance and sunlit patio garden. There is space for one guest car on the main driveway to the house. The property is located in a peaceful part of Sidmouth but the High Street, with its abundance of cafes and independent shops, is only a ten-minute walk away, as is the Esplanade. Both routes take you through the lovely Victorian gardens of the Knowle with its magnificent trees and exotic shrubs.

Boligen
Ashlea was recently refurbished and offers comfortable contemporary living. It is an ideal retreat for couples wanting a quiet break in the Regency resort of Sidmouth, or a base for exploring this part of Devon by car or walking the many picturesque routes in the area. You enter Ashlea via the private patio garden, through a conservatory dining room into the open plan living space. The kitchen area includes a fridge with freezer compartment, ceramic induction hob and combination oven/grill/microwave. The television has a built-in DVD player and there is unlimited free Wi-fi. The en-suite shower room has a mains pressure shower, wash basin and WC. We supply a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits. There is access to laundry facilities if required. There is a comprehensive stock of tourist information leaflets covering the local area.

Gæsteadgang
You approach Ashlea through the terraced front garden of the main house with its profusion of Camellias, Azaleas, Rhododendrons and Fuchsias. Guests have their own private gateway to the patio garden and annex. There are four steps down from the driveway to the front garden.

Andre ting, der er værd at bemærke
Sidmouth’s lovely local cinema and lively theatre are a short walk away, as are various churches, medical facilities, library, bus and taxi services.

Beliggenhed

Sidmouth, England, Storbritannien

Ashlea offers an ideal base for exploring this part of East Devon and the stunning Jurassic Coast by car, on foot and even using public transport. Exeter, with its excellent shopping facilities, is a twenty minute drive away and you can be on Dartmoor in forty minutes.
Sidmouth, 'A town caught still in a timeless charm’ according to John Betjeman, is a delightful place. A short walk through the gardens and park of The Knowle takes you into town with its mix of very friendly independent shops, cafes and pubs, or to the Esplanade with its fine range of Regency and Victorian architecture.
Alternatively, you can turn the other way and walk into gorgeous Devon countryside across Sidmouth golf course to Mutter’s Moor, Peak Hill and beyond.
The Byes riverside park offers a pleasant, level walk to enjoy the wild flower meadows and perhaps a sighting of a kingfisher or dipper. This is part of the Arboretum Tree Trail that circuits the town which is blessed with many interesting trees.
Sidmouth is becoming a festival town with Folk Week in August, and Science, Literary and Walking festivals at various times of the year. There is a putting green and guests are welcome at the Golf Club.
There is public access to bowling greens and tennis courts, and you can fish for mackerel and occasionally sea bass from the beach.
The Donkey Sanctuary is a stiff coast path walk or a short drive away. The Norman Lockyer Observatory on top of Salcombe Hill has regular public sessions throughout the year. For the less agile, both can be reached by a ride on the Sidmouth Hopper Bus, a hail and ride service that runs throughout the summer from Mutters Moor on Peak Hill across the valley to Salcombe Regis.
