Det skal I lave
Kotagede is a 16th century town known for silver making, it's dotted with narrow streets and quirky laneways. We will make batik with hot wax and special tools, this process is called canting. After we have finished the colouring process we will let the batik dry as we explore the old neighbourhood by bicycle or foot (there are few motorbikes or cars), I will supply the bicycles and you will be guided by myself or my co-host through unique local spots amongst the gorgeous historical streets. Upon our return home, we will enjoy a traditional Javanese meal cooked by my father. After our exploration we will return to my house to view the finished dried batik.
I'm a freelance photographer and videographer with over 10 years experience, I hold a degree in english and am fluent in two languages. I have spent the last 5 years teaching traditional Indonesian art 'batik' to adults and children in our village. I'm a creative person who takes joy in inspiring people to explore their own creative process.

Her skal du være
We will conduct the batik in the front of my family home, an open studio that looks out to the village around me. Children are often spotted playing nearby and will be curious to welcome you to our village. It's a special place to be and experience.
