This is your chance to experience highlights of the city of Arusha. You will visit areas of Arusha and experience elements of the authentic culture and way of life of a local Arusha citizen. The itinerary varies throughout the week because different markets are open different days of the week so for more details please inbox me.

Food is one great way for anyone to experience and remember any culture. In this tour, you will visit the marketplace where you will enjoy the range of foods, fruits, and vegetables in display. We can even visit the famous market where goats and cows from Maasai community are auctioned; I highly recommend this authentic Maasai experience.

The food markets will be sanitary and safe so you don't have to worry about any of that. If you would like to purchase something, you are welcome to do so. When its lunchtime, you will get to eat local foods and drink local beer or other non-alcoholics at local food stalls and famous local eating spots.

Arusha is also known for its gorgeous landscape, and you will see this as we travel through the busy town to the quieter rural outskirts of Arusha. You will enjoy the fresh breeze and green panoramic landscape views with hills as you venture through the city and into the more peaceful outskirts of Arusha.

Hello, my name is Jerome. By profession, I am a local guide and farmer but when I'm not working I explore the city. I have lived in Arusha for over 15 years now and for that, I have got plenty of knowledge and experience about the city to share. Arusha's has got some of the most beautiful and peaceful landscapes and attractions where you can enjoy the surroundings, so if you're trying to experience the city's natural way of life then you are in the right place.

Jerome is a very nice person who works hard to accommodate his guests. He even found a restaurant where I could have fresh, vegan food! The content of the tour, however, was lacking. We went to a cultural place that was a bit dull, and walked through a market, but in the end, I felt like I didn't learn much about Arusha and its history.

Jerome was punctual (this is unheard of in the country so very crucial). He was very friendly and courteous and was willing to hear all that we wanted to see and change things up, he was flexible and changed plans according to our needs. We had a wonderful time. We saw markets, a museum and really heard a lot of stories. Jerome is really personable and fun.

This is the tour to take if you want to see the real Arusha! It was not a "touristy" experience. Jerome was very professional and accommodating throughout the day. He was punctual in meeting my husband and I at the designated location. First, he took us to have lunch at Lake Duluti, which was gorgeous and relaxing. There we shared a delicious meal together, right next to the water and under the shade of beautiful trees. Jerome was very friendly and our conversation about the local culture was interesting and informative. Next we went to visit a local food market, which was a very interesting experience to see hundreds of locals selling their fruits and vegetables. We bought a few with Jerome's assistance in helping us communicate. We next got to see how business was conducted in a massive secondhand market. That was quite an authentic experience being amongst the locals. The last part of the tour was visiting the Arusha city center, where I was able to buy a brand new African dress tailored on the spot just for me. Jerome helped us to communicate with the seamstress. We were thoroughly pleased with the tour and felt safe at all times with Jerome as our guide. We plan to visit Tanzania again in 7 years for our daughter's 21st birthday. I hope Jerome will be doing the tour still, so our daughter can get that wonderful, authentic experience, too.

Well, I have to say exploring the town with Jerome was delightful! I can say it was the most unforgettable moment in my life. All the haggling and the array of items to buy was wonderful. Its like being a little child so excited in a toy store. I do thank him for guiding me through town due to my blindness. He was able to accommodate me and I know it wasn't the norm meeting someone blind, but it is about getting out of your comfort zone sometimes. I did appreciate your assistance picking out the right colors of jewelry from the Masai. Yes there are so many people asking you to buy things, but if I could I would have done so. Thanks again Jerome for your flexibility, the food, the shopping, and the whole experience. Yes, the passion fruit and watermelon, and the carrot juice is most favored.

Very authentic guidance through Arusha and near surrounding! We visited the Masaii auction market where we were the only tourists as well as a food market and as bonus lake Duluti where we also had our „late lunch“. Jerome was a really good guide and we would definitely do the tour again!

Für den ersten Tag war es die perfekte Aktivität für uns. Ali hat uns einen guten Einblick gegeben und unsere persönliche Wünsche berücksichtig. Wir haben viel neues erfahren und konnten die Zeit geniessen. Gerne wieder.
