Prepare a meal with TadkaByRitika Get Introduced to Indian spices, learn about our age-old cooking techniques and share anecdotes with fellow attendees as we savor a scrumptious meal prepared in TadkaByRitika's kitchen. As I welcome you to my home with a hot cup of masala chai &homemade snacks, we will walk through our plan for the day. After this, we get started with an introduction to Indian spices & our cooking techniques. Now the action begins as I handover you the recipe sheets & we start preparing a delicious meal, including two curries, a rice dish, one or two types of Indian bread & a yogurt dish. Curry Dish-1 Butter Chicken:- Succulent Chicken Tikka in a creamy tomato & cashew nut sauce Or Lamb Keema:- Minced Lamb marinated with yogurt & cooked with onions, tomatoes, ginger & garlic Or Punjabi Chole:- White chickpeas (kabuli chana) pressure cooked with a bouquet garni of whole spices Curry Dish-2 Gobhi Adraki:- Cauliflower & potatoes cooked with ginger & green chilies Or Dal Tadka:- Flavorsome lentils cooked with ginger, green chilly, curry leaves & fresh coriander Or Kadhai Paneer:- Fresh Cottage cheese cooked in a wok with onions, tomatoes & capsicum Jeera Rice Fragrant Basmati Rice cooked with cumin seeds Veg/ Pineapple Raita Plain wholewheat Chapati/ Paranthas Finally, we all sit down to enjoy the lunch that you helped prepare and share our experie
A food enthusiast, a wife & a mother, these are my full-time roles. Born in a passionate Punjabi family where home-cooked meals were served daily with dollops of love, I grew up as a happy soul. My work as a telecom engineer required a lot of travel, but my masala chai and my mom’s pinnis always accompanied me. It took me two pregnancies and an opportunity to be a stay at home mom, that I realized how cooking for my family provided a deep sense of satisfaction. TadkaByRitika is an initiative to bring the wisdom of Indian food to your kitchens. Join me, as we start preparing healthy wholesome meals for your family that nourish their mind, body & soul.
