We cook together, slowly at the same time that we chat and taste wine, cheese and our work - all the while listening to a wide selection of music that can go from bossa nova, tangos or Neapolitan underground, to whatever the evening whispers... We'll try two or three different local wines paired with food. In the garden and surrounding fields, depending on the season, we'll look for herbs to cook with and branches and flowers to dress the dining table. We'll be immersed in the Florentine hills landscape, in the outskirts of Impruneta, a small village on the Chianti Classico border renowned for its beautiful square and church, which has been a point of pilgrimage for centuries, and its terracotta pots and sculptures. We love cooking with local seasonal organic & biodynamic products using old traditional Italian recipes, some times taking them a step beyond with our own experience, as well as new recipes with what grows locally. Some times my cook friend Momi will join us. Jo's partner owns a shop www.Solmeo.it selling organic and biodynamic products by local farms; we just use their high quality products. In summer we'll eat under the grape pergola with a view over the valley, olive groves and woods. From mid-Sep the weather won't allow dinner nor aperitivo outdoors.

A London cultural events professional, I've studied the area's history & art since moving to Florence's countryside 13 years ago. Passionate about organic food, I have always been interested in food and cooking, initially cooking just for family and friends, then organising cooking gatherings, which I started in 2013 with my friend Momi, a Milanese architect just as passionate about cooking and with several culinary qualifications. I speak English as well as Italian, Spanish, French and Catalan.

We will meet at around 4 (5 in August) in Impruneta's main square, under the arches of the church or in Florence's Porta Romana square. I'll send you specific & easy to follow directions. We'll drive through the small village into the countryside, where we live, among olive groves and woods. We'll cook and have dinner at our place, a restored centuries old farmers house. If you are not driving, I'll take you back to Florence.

You can get here by car or scooter. If you are not driving we'll meet at Porta Romana square in Florence and I'll drive you back; or by electric bike through a splendid countryside road. We'd guide you & take care of returning the bikes <extra cost.
